趁着回来，短短的两个礼拜
好好地和亲友们叙旧。

真的。。。
好久好久没和老朋友叙旧了
那种感觉。。。

爬爬山，吹吹风，
再来吃个路边摊收尾。
一切随意，
不须麻麻烦烦。

上了大学，
交的朋友,
理念也许较不一样，
也不怎么称得上交心。
尤其是在外地，
你做你的，他做他的，我做我的，
平时见面跟本就少上加少，
要不然就是课业事物。

一到难得的空闲放假，
大家就一窝蜂“咻" 的一声，
不见踪影。

回国的回国，
在家宅到不能再宅的也有，
剩下的也寥寥无几了。
看了也没心情来个聚会什么的。

真的很怀念中小学，
一放假，大家就会计划要到哪儿哪儿的。
不管多么的累，只要聚在一起游山玩水，
走断了腿也不算什么？

谈着谈着，

发觉我们真的真的不小了。

随心随行的日子，

我们还有几回？

Well.... 接下来也许是期待已有伴侣的朋友结婚了吧？

Rarely talk about my opinions in design here...
Well, cause not everybody understands it.
This time gonna talk about TASTE.

Still remember last semester, my design was said to be 'fat,bulky,and fugly'.
Well... I'm not a huge fans of breath-taking designs *blah...blah...blah*
To me, functionality comes BEFORE aesthetic.
I love science, structure and logics. Eventhough, I'm a fan of aesthetic, it's in a different way though.
If I have the choice, I would choose to save the money rather than making the whole building looking arty-farty. Watch the video below if you know mandarin *sorry, no subtitle*
It's about a Taiwanese journalist who used to work for magazine which interviews ONLY expensive,luxurious,breath-taking buildings. After turning 30, she took a 180 degree change and seek for the spirits in old a.k.a vernacular architecture.

Some of you might disagree with this, but sometimes, taking aesthetics as the departure point just make me SICK! Well..... I think I should have taken a double degree course...

Christmas Lunch

Continuously for two years, I was given the opportunity to experience couple X'mas overseas. When I was still in Penang, my small aunty will always organize an X'mas party.

I think we can be considered as a big family. Even though we're not Christian, we celebrate X'mas.

haha.... who cares? as long as you get to gather with friends and family, eat, drink and enjoy~!

This year, my boss asked me to go over to the restaurant for an X'mas lunch. He's originally from the United States and been in Tassie for around 9 years. He first came here with his ex-wife (he REALLY mind the 'EX'!), first in Melbourne, then Tasmania (after they got on a different way).

Well, I was not told to bring anything for the gathering, but, common sense....duh~
I made a supposed-to-be-a-moist-chocolate-mud-cake, but I sieved the mixture after I have mixed them..... which led it becoming a SUPER rich brownie! =____= A HUGE DISAPPOINMENT!!! =(

We sell mainly 'Creole' food, which refers to a variety of mixed cuisine developed by the 'white descendants who settle in Carribean or Central/South of America'. My boss' from Missouri, which is central western of America.

If you say South East Asians love 'cili padi' a.k.a small hot baby chillies

I think Jalapeno chillies can be said to be part of Creole food.

Home made ham!!! Smoked and slow grilled! with brushes of orange juice + brown sugar.
YUM!!! totally divine!

This is called....ermm...erm....

FORGOT!!! hahahaha....

Recipe of this unknown side dish:

A bed of sweet potato,

Sprinkled with brown sugar,

Topped with a few pieces of butter,

Layered with sufficient marshmallow

and

BAKE!

Oh ya! don't forget to sprinkle some Pecan nuts yea!

I CAN'T BELIVE IT IS NOT A DESSERT!!!

It's a side dish! A God-damn side dish! *pardon me~lalala*

It scored 6 out of 10 as a side dish,
but would have made it to 9 if it's a dessert. *persistent*

Love to 'lepak' on youtube recently, clicking on stuffs that sounds appealing to me.
Tripped over this - a duo-group cover by Wanting and SeanZ.
Feel that among all their covers, this is the most interesting one.

I think it's an old song, if not mistaken, it's from “琼瑶”电影, which was an era totally out of my media antenna. XP
However, the 'old and conservative' way of singing this song is reinterpreted in a younger style which is more towards sofa-music 沙发音乐。

Finally，made the Unagi Dong and Tang yuan as well.

It's Christmas eve and just getting more rest before work recommences.
Well, below are the photos.

The sweet and sour fish were cooked by my housemate. =P

Maybe I'm not a huge fan of fishy smell, this unagi still has some of the stench.

But at least it's less than last time.

After that, I made a 'tang yuan' with redbean filling..... arhhh...

took me ages to find the red bean paste

Summer solstice 夏至

Yesterday was called 'Winter Solstice" in Lunar calendar,

which small glutinous balls are served with sweet syrup.

In Mandarin, we call it "tang yuan", while we call it 'xiak yen' in Hakka.

Probably going to make it during weekend.... if not too lazy。。。haha

Also miss muachi or 糍粑'qi bah'..... springy texture of the glutinous rice, covered with roasted peanuts, icing sugar...oh DAMN! *drooling all over the keyboard* XP

It's winter solstice for the northern hemisphere, but in Aus, it's FREAKING HOT! haha... not a bad thing at all though. LOVE YOU SUNSHINE!

By the way, I went fishing with a few friends at a creek during last weekend, and I got an EEL!

Planning to do an 'Unagi Don' or 鳗鱼饭 whenever I'm free. *hopefully*

Used to order them whenever I got the chance to dine in a Japanese restaurant...which is rare~

My housemate cooked half of it yesterday night as dinner..... and he made them into a pot of soup bunjut (Malay spriced soup) However, he added nothing to get rid of the muddy flavour (cause it's a freshwater eel). The result was... erhm.... after 12 hours eating the eel, the muddy smells still lingering around my mouth... > < !!!

till here then.
Life's always about food.... chao!

果园的工作果然累人。。。
每天五点多就得起床~ 累啊~！

上个周末看了两部台湾电影
《艋舺》和《那年，我们一起追的女孩》

先讲讲《艋舺》吧。。。

台湾唸法为“Mang-kah!",
源于台湾原住民语，意指 “陆地与河口连接的地方，且贸易繁忙之地”
故事大纲围绕于一个羞涩的男生怎么与艋舺帮派结下不解之缘。

新一代帮派的纠纷，年轻人对"oh xiakh huey" (黑社会）改头换面的观念。
从出生入死的友谊到关公面前结拜的兄弟关系，
到最后的两败俱伤。。。。。。

故事情节ok ok啦，
单亲妈妈，辍学儿子，同性恋的阮经天。。。*汗*
但原声带配得还蛮成功的，尤其是男主角和小宁（戏中的妓女）暧昧的那一幕。。。
哈哈。。。。没有一丝龌龊的感觉，反而意外的浪漫~phew phitt!!!
整部电影大多以台语呈现，又没有字幕，确实看到有点辛苦。哈哈~
戏中的服装时尚，不是红红绿绿，就是黄黄紫紫的；不是花花纹纹，就是pattern多多的。。。
哈哈。。。彩虹！

《那年，我们一起追的女孩》，

预告片未免也打得太强了吧！
搞到看完过后没预期的满足。。。哈哈~

（也许看过的人才懂得我在讲什么）

把柯腾的“十五月亮”照入镜头，还有课堂中的电吉他班。。。九把刀也太屌了吧！
哈哈。。。没什么反对，只是不知道九把刀的出发点在哪？XP
听说被大马政府列为三级片。。。oh oh!

我的高中，没有女生，更没有“沈佳宜”，
"停经老姨","装年轻老姨”却偶尔会遇上一两个。
倒霉的话，耳朵就得受苦了。。。哈哈...shhhh....
还好我一路以来都是以好好学生的样子来面对她们的，不然。。。肯定没剩！

故事中所说的：追用工读书的女生的好处就是你也会用工起来。
非常赞同！哈哈。。。
因为不管你（指男生）的梦想是什么，总希望能超越女生吧？！

即使你的梦想是成为“家庭主夫”，也要成为个万能的吧？哈哈。。。
想当年。。。我竟然也有那么"拼”的！haha...说成绩啦~

有一幕。。。
坐在操场旁的光头柯腾，在绑马尾的佳宜走过时，满足的笑了一下。。。
哈哈！靠腰啊！！我竟然也跟着傻笑起来。。。哈哈。。。*失控地傻笑中*

如果问我看完这部电影有什么特别的感想，我会说：
”我。。。我。。。。我。。。。。。
我终于学会了怎么运用‘臭鸡八’”！！”哈哈。。。
学好三年，学坏？。。。。三秒不到！

找天，我也想拍这么一部电影。。。

Having a free Saturday morning, nothing much to do (besides tidying up my long deserted room).

Got overall result last week.... hmm.... what can I say?
Definitely not satisfied, but I'm not complaining either.
The subject that I put in most effort showed the most pathetic outcome... oh WTH!
but at least the worst subject still cukup cukup makan. *感动* haha...
The rest of the subjects not too bad, but not awesomely awesome.

Surprisingly, the subject that I loath the most - HISTORY got a DN (distinction)....

SERIOUSLY WHAT THE HECK!?!?!?@#$@#%#$

haha... well, life's not always the way you wanted.
Overall comment : Heaps of room to improve. =P

Watched Twilight Part I with my friends just now... out of pure boredom.

And my comment is

IT IS WAY TOO MUCH OF BEING A CHICK FLICK!

Well, the main characters spent too much time on the bed, I think....
Eventhough it's suppose to be a honeymoon trip,
but that doesn't mean 80% of the focus should be placed on having a intimate connection
or should I say 'SEXUAL INTERCOURSE"? =P

Oh well, not the worst movie I have ever watched *but CLOSE*
but it won't be recommended by me though.

Now, I know why I haven't watched the first few movies.

The pastry has been pinned too thin, till the layers merged completely XS

Next time, should have keep them thick, fluffy and sexy! *hyper*

前几天，在工作的地方，
接触到了一位较特别的客人。

他，是老板的邻居的属下。
一走进餐馆，我就发现他跟常人不一样。

他见了我，
很用力地提了嘴角。
生涩地微笑。

我，
也回了他个微笑。

“Just dining alone?"

夹着严重的口吃，颤抖的发音，
他拼出了个简单的单词。

“aa... ya...aaaa"

接着，由于当晚的生意不是很繁忙，
我让他挑张他自己喜欢的桌子。
他绕了餐馆一圈，挑了张靠近厕所的桌子，
静静地坐下。

我再次，走了上前问他需要些什么饮料。
他递了个塑料袋给我，再吃力地拼了个英文单词。
“Geer....gerrr...geeeh...lass"

"Sure mate!"

他刚刚递给我的塑料袋里，
有两瓶用纸包着的红酒，
还有半打压平了的铝罐子。

卸下那泛黄了的包装纸，
拿个酒杯，转个身子，
他竟然不见了。。。hmmm...

原来，他不堪旁人的另类眼光，
善自换了座位。
一个设于一间小房间，靠窗户的位子。

虽然那是个面向大街的座位，
但，不远处坐了一桌来庆生的一家九口。

问题来了。。。

当我在向那位客人拿order的时候，
另一桌的孩子一直不停地笑。。。
很明显的，他们在取笑他那微卑的表达能力。

最糟糕的是他们的父母脸上无一丝忏悔，
反之，竟然还谈笑风生。

拿别人肢体上的残缺来当笑品，
以及他们那一脸的理所当然，
真的。。。真的。。。
很想大骂“敢累蚂钞纪败!”
和送几张飞餐桌过去！！

望着空荡荡的大街，
他默默地咀嚼着盘中餐

心中满满的无奈
的确很不好受！

I agree that wife has to be obedient to the husband, but it should never be a one way thing.

The interview with the Madam president contains few things that I agree and a few that I find confusing and disturbing.

Obey the husband - I agree.

Present a good personality to the husband - I agree

When the husband comes back home,
she's in a good shape -Agree, but..... good shape?
ermm.....means---> manner? temper? health? clothing? food???
I'm confused, but I think it covers all.

Good dressing - I agree

Allure to the husband - Even though there's nothing wrong with a wife being allure to the husband, or a husband allured to the wife. But I don't think the word 'ALLURE' can be any more appropriate than the word 'ATTRACTIVE'. Anyway, it's just a play of wording, basically there's nothing wrong with that.

Fulfil the husband's needs - Agree.

5 AGREEs and 1 half-confused/agree's out of 6 statements, not bad. XP

In contrary, Chinese likes to say “打是爱，骂是疼”
which means "Hitting shows LOVE, Scolding manifests concern"
but there's always a limit to LOVE and PUNISH.

假期来了，无所事事，

即使你对吉他没有兴趣，他一贯的谐星作风肯定让你喷饭！！
即时吉他还是学不会，至少能够“够够力”地笑一下嘛！

目前，他最屌的教学作品就是这个。。。。哈哈
没想到《般若心经》也能拿来教！！
真的五体投地！RESPECT AHH!

无厘头的教学方式，
加上各式各样乐器的穿插。。。
例如，般若心经就穿擦了木鱼，铜钟的音效

Saw an image shared by my friend on FB,
It's a candy.

I'm not a 'kipas besar' aka BIG FAN of any candy,
(=____ = lll)
but this ain't a normal one,
even though it's just a normal candy
which used to exist during my childhood time (maybe yours as well),

A slightly sour and savoury candy,
wrapped in a a thin layer of paper which seems to be gilded in gold.
It melts pretty fast the moment you put it into your mouth.
That's probably why,
a single stick normally won't do the job of satisfying the young, cheeky souls.

I forgot what's its name... seriously, just can't recall the name.
Just know that you can get it from Pasar Malam/Night Market or Chinese Herbal shop.
If not mistaken, a few main retail shops started to sell them as well....

I have lost track of the very last time I tasted this candy,

Finally, I touched and played some sports today.
I lost count of when's the last time I went for a jog, or do some outdoor activities...
ALL THANKS TO THE NERDY ARCHITECTURE LIEFESTYLE.....
so sick of that...
I think if ... and only IF I own a company in future, I'm going to set a rule

"ALL THE STAFFS, including the BOSS,
have to leave the office building by 5pm, and
NO OVERTIME during night, but if really need it,
you can come back at 5am the next day"

I'm just not a nocturnal person, heavily caffeinated coffee and tea always make me feel sick eventually.
I would prefer to sleep earlier and rise earlier. If not, my brain will just "JENG JENG JENG JENG" a.k.a. 'HANG'.

Feel so nice after a few matches with the boys.....
Sweating like a pig is not a bad thing at all, especially doing something that you enjoy.

Hope that can find some crazy people or even one is enough, who enjoys midnight hiking, getting lost in the bushland and sweat like a pig. =D

can REALLY see the gap between students who got experience and those who don't

our work (referring to students who don't have any foundation in architecture)
can be a total laughing stock to them.....

I found it to be quite true though. =P

When I still used to catch a 5-hour shuttle bus from PJ back to Penang, vice versa.
Sitting with a total stranger doesn't mean an absolute danger or anything that's negative.

Sometimes,
you just find that it's easier to have a chat with him/her.
Not because of you both are besties or anything special.

It's just the resonant element that you hold
because both of you know nothing about each others.

It's like a replica of the essence of LIFE.

Yesterday was the 2011 MSA night,
with the theme of "WANNA WARNA?"
It's a great night out, even though the number is small.
It's definitely not a successful year,
but it is not bad at all either. =D

People may think that it's a sheer waste of
time, youth, energy and even money.

But, this is life to me.

It's officially, the first day of the long-awaited mid semester break, and basically,
I slept till 12pm....haha, oh shit! =P

Then spent my day in the Junction Art Festival.
It's a unique art festival which is held annually in Tasmania.
However, this year, most of the event is not free, and less interactive. =S

However, it's worth paying (I think) =D

Tried to drag my housemates with me... but.... SADLY, no one's interested =(
Went there alone, but luckily, met a few mates there. At least not so bad. =D

对“家”这个词的看法

Again,
had a rather hectic break with friends.
It's tiring, but fun, fun, and fun.

Been to many places,
a few that I have been to for several times,
and another few which I have never been to.
The weather was unpredicted,
but everything went on as planned.

On my way back to Melbourne airport,
met a father who just sent his son off to RMIT.
His son is doing logistic studies,
first time overseas,
first time leaving home for so long.
Can feel that he was rather worried,
hmmm....
I have nothing to say, just:

"Your son will definitely survive" =D

Hope that I will have the time to update about my break,

《练习曲》观后感

上一个post才讲到很想看这部电影，
想不到会痒到酱快就把它给下载来看。

原来，男主角是个有言语障碍的大学生。
所以他说话时，大家都以为他是外地人。
再加上没戴助听器就听不到，
所以和他人沟通时总是出现些些障碍。

故事大纲并没什么特别，
只是个环岛男生所体验的平凡事物。
故事情怀发展得有点缓，
看惯动作片的人一定接受不了。

一路上，
淡淡的，
听着他人的故事，
没什么奇特的效应，
但却深深地映出了
现今社会的道德观。

我找不出哪一幕最让我难忘，
因为
幕幕都有着它自己
悠悠不散的感人地方。

就比男主角回到外婆家，
参与妈祖游行的那一幕吧：

看着年老的阿公，
为了让妈祖加冕孙子
那一块即将携带上路的护身符，
不惜与众善信跪在大道上

Yeasterday, my housemate said he feels like making roti canai,

and I said

"WHY NOT?!"

haha... coz I can eat along as well. =P

"Nomm....Nommmm...ommm....ommmm:"

On the other hand, I made something in return as well..... something I miss

It has been a long long time since I last tasted this Indian fried bread.

PUREE

I was first introduced to this puffy delicacy by my auntie.
She's the one who exposed us to the Mamak culture, roti canai, teh tarik...etc.
I would say Puree is one of my favourite among all.
Compared with roti canai, roti telur, roti tisu and other famous Mamak/Indian food,
Puree is not so common. I've asked all of my Malay friends and none of them know about it.
Some people called it "Fried Chapati", and it's really interesting when you fry it.
the thin pastry just "PUFF!" up, leaving a spacious gap between the top and bottom crust.

Normally, I would eat it from a Indian stall in the middle of the wet market and run by an Indian auntie.
She does lots of stuffs, ranging from drinks, all kinds of roti, Putu Mayong, Take away rice.... and so on.
But among all, I like the Puree the most, the one with potato and chicken stuffing.
if not mistaken, just RM3.60, and normally I'd ask her to put more chillies in it.

Holidays are never bad.
You get the chance to do something which pampers yourself.

For me, it's eating.
Eating something nostalgic.
haha...

Early in the morning, we had some simple breakkie and started our journey.

Today, we were heading south to the capital of Tasmania - HOBART.

Never even dreamt of driving car like this......

once in a while, it's good even just for a short while

First destination - MONA (Museum of Old and New Art)

The size of the entrance will never tell you the actual volume of the museum,

We basically spent a whole 4 hours in the Museum, and we couldn't even finish a complete level of it.

nevermind, can always go back...hha

Later on, we went to the Mount Wellington

That's almost the end of our first day in Hobart.

Afterthat, we checked into our accommodation,

and went for shopping for our dinner.

Everybody was already as dead beat as a hungry ghost....

coz we skipped our lunch.

Nothing much , just bought many packs you-know-we-love-always-convenient

INSTANT NOODLES!!!!

I think we gulped down at least 4 packets per person that night...haha

for the guys only.

Later, we went to Hobart water front with some light beers

(Bond just simply can't live without them)

some unfinished cookies (a weird way to accompany the beer)

and two decks of Pokers.

On the next day, we started to head north, back to Lonny.

On the way, we planned to stop by at the Wineglass bay.

Before starting to hike, we treated ourselves with some oysters.

Yum YUM~ XP simply can't have enough of those babes,

if not because of the wallet. =(

tempted me to go midnight fishing with them.....

FYI, my Uni recommenced on the next day and

I have an early 9am class on the next day.....

which is HOORAY!!

Despite the unwillingness and coldness of the night,

I succumbed , succumbed to all the Devils' calling.

haha.... only those who went knew how exciting it was.

sounded so wrong. .... or it's just that your mind is ...*cough-cough*

I dragged my self like a zombie to school on the next day,

and thank God, it's just a drawing class.

After my class, went back home straight to meet the 4 pigs,

who still snoring in on the bed.

Then, we dilly dally for few hours,

had lunch (fish caught from yesterday midnight fishing)

and brought them to my archi school and UTAS Launceston main campus.

前几天，五月初五，在马来西亚的话，
家里的老蟹和芳姑有伯母，嫂嫂婶婶们应该都会忙着绑粽子吧？！
记得小学的前门，过一条马路，总会见到一辆售卖粽子的小车子。
小小的车子，挂满目不暇给，种类繁多的粽。
我没有买过，也没有想买过。
因为家里的长辈们都是会绑粽子的。

还记得，在旧家的时候，就一张四只脚，一块板的木桌，
阿嫲，老蟹和芳姑，七手八脚的，绑-绑-绑-绑。。。
还小的我们，看长辈们绑得眼花缭乱。
还记得，当姑姑绑足那些拜神的，给亲朋戚友的过后，便会问我们要怎样的。

我们便会开始七嘴八舌地开始下订单。
大多数的都是：
“什么都不要，糯米就好”
“只要冬菇跟猪肉！不要lat ci （栗子）,不要蛋黄。”
*你知道的啦~小孩子嘛！很多东西都不合口味的*

在塔斯，要绑粽子其实不难，只是材料贵了点咯。
本来在课业冲昏脑袋的当儿想绑的，可是，临时打退堂鼓.哈哈~

拖到最后一天才决定做个糯米鸡好了。
原因是：味道差不多一样，而且还不用裹到神不像神，鬼不像鬼的（意指难看死了）

炒了炒糯米，五香粉，古月粉，香菇，酱油，就放下锅蒸。
没放鸡肉/猪肉，因为是拿来当陪饭的，鸡肉已经有另煮了。
没放鸭蛋，是因为价钱，一粒就已经三块澳币，意指马币九块。。。省起来吧~哈哈
虾米？haiyah~放些鱼露就搞定了！

Last holiday (.....delayed post)

Last holiday (two months ago) , Beng Beng and Daniel brought some Melbourne friends to Tassie,
nothing serious, just jalan-jalan, makan-makan. And they are:

Mei - A PJ girl who studying in Uni of Melbourne as well and always "bie" here and there
...."bieeee~bieeee~" (=___= lll) haha.....

but fun to mix with, has an absolutely great imagination a.k.a scared of ghost (for sure) XP

Next....

Bond - I know what you'll have in your mind when you heard his name ..... his handphone number must end with '007'? Some one always in tuxedo? or Someone who always flirt with girls? (I would go with the last though) Well....... How should I describe him?....mmmm...... A mixture of Singaporean and Hongkee, fun to mix with.... and always wear checkered-T, maybe that's the only clothing he brought? XD

Enough of the intro, let's dive into the trip! ^ ~ ^

For the first 2 nights, they're left to live, die and survive on their own... coz I'm still busy with the Malaysian Student Association stuffs. "Komenasai~..."

The first thing we did together is FISHING!!!
(FYI, the last thing we did was FISHING as well...haha, lame~)

I have only the photo of the fish shown below and the rest is with Daniel, Beng Beng and Bond.

Within hours, we had quite a good catch, thanks to all the beginners' luck... haha.
Especially Bond, the fish just hooked itself up, within seconds after the line is thrown.

Then we went to a berry farm nearby.........

We got no berries, but still alright, we bought a few berry ice-creams. *drooling*

With ice-creams in our hands, he headed back and picked up some cooking ingredients on our way for the fish banquet (seriously, we called it BANQUET, and it is).

It's a all-fish meal,

fish curry/gulai (Malay style),

sweet and sour fish (Chinese style),

Steam fish (Chinese TeocCew style)

and some stir fried vegie (Free-style) XP

After having our dinner, we rushed out again, for our Tree top adventure,

THE NIGHT TOUR~

But before that, we need to get the car we have hired (my old junk car just can't sustain long distance travel). That's when all the adrenalin came pouring in. First, we found out that we have no qualified driver and second is, we're at the airport, which is quite a distance drive from my house. It's really pain in the bum at that time, but things got sorted out eventually, inspite of all the adrenalin pump.

After getting our long-awaited car, we headed straight to the Tasmania Forestry for the tree top trip. And.....

WE ARE LATE... haha... half an hour, which is so not me. *self praise* =P

Sorry for all those who waited for us..... KOMENASAI again~

The 5 Asians

It was a chilly night, and I bet the temperature is no more than 5 degree celsius.
Everybody's smoking.... without cigarettes.
The trip lasted for around 3 hours and we headed back and dozed off within minutes.

That's all for the first day I spent with Daniel, Beng, Bond and Mei.

(I'll call you guys DBBM from now onwards) =)

Things turned out the unexpected way, shits happened , but we still had tonnes of fun.

It's just like Life,

never a perfect planning,
but sometimes a perfect feeling.

Bad ass

The work load of this semester is getting more and more, but still ok, still bearable.

But, this time, I'm a bad ass, for the very very first time.

In short, I exploded.

It's not that I have never come across any WORMS in my group work before, just that the work load is less and is for a shorter period, and there's more group members to share the extra load given by the WORMS.

However, this time, THINGS ARE DIFFERENT.

It's a one-semester-long project, which is divided into 2 parts. First part, you did alot of NOTHING, but we bear with it. Still okay, we haven't explode, just waiting to explode.

But, I admit I'm really off the threshold this time. I can bear no more of those SHAIT!!!

It's about a local team group mate of mine.
I can say that he contributed almost 0% for the entire group report. I just simply can't bear with it!! Not even with BOTH of my eyes being blind!!! DAMN!!!

HOW DO YOU SLEEP TIGHT? in night,
when you know that the other 2 groupmates of yours are staying up for nights,
rushing all the things needed to be done, and have to WIPE YOUR ASS at the same time?!

Some times, I just feel like I want to shout it loud (like what 'The Mask' did in the cartoon)

前几天家里的老蟹打了电话来，

过后老薯接了电话，聊着聊着，发现原来旧家离要被铲平的日子已经差不远了。

想起时还会不自觉傻笑的回忆吧，

Easter break just passed and almost everyday was packed like hell,
erm.... I think it's more like heaven and hell.
'Hell' is because it's DAMN tiring
'Heaven' is because I'm with friends.

Seriously, it has been a long time since I last went so hyper. If not mistaken, the very last time I went so hyper, crazy and have this amount of laughter is during my college time. You won't see me acting so hyper and crazy in the Uni, unless you're the same type as me and know me pretty well.

I just can't find someone to go crazy and hyper like before..... just can't find.....
or maybe just haven't found? hope so! =D

It was a busy night, or should I say "SUPERBly busy"?
The restaurant is basically fully booked, and there's a 20+ people group booking.
I didn't serve them but another colleague of mine did. They were celebrating a birthday and I can say that they're the most generous group of customers so far (since the start of me working in that restaurant).

They basically wiped out all the expensive wines we have in the shop,

and most of them ended up kind of tipsy.

The main thing is

"THEY GAVE A GENEROUS AMOUNT of TIP"

There're 3 waiting staffs on that night, and we shared equally among ourselves. The amount of tips I got is more than the pay I get for a night...... they're indeed very generous.

But... But .... But..... excess money always bring some conflicts, doesn't it?

After we divided the tips among ourselves (the waiting staffs), the boss told us that we should tip the kitchen hands as well.(but it's all up to us, coz the tips are meant for the waiting staffs) There're 3 kitchen hands, so we (the 3 waiting staffs) should tip 1 kitchen hand each. I grabbed all the small change I got (like one third of the tip I received) and handed to 1 of the kitchen hands. Another male waiting staff did the same to another kitchen hand.

But, the female waiting staff who haven't tipped any kitchen hand just stand there and acted like nothing has happened.

"WTF?! Will you die by sharing some of your tip?

YOU FATHER F***ER!!"

*I know I've been using foul language on my blog recently....

but that's the best way to express my feelings*

Normally, she's always acting like as if she's very close with the kitchen hands and normally she would spend at least 5 minutes chatting with them before leaving the restaurant.

But, I'm not surprised to see how she reacted tonight, she's just another bitch on the street.
I don't like to back-stab others, but I just can't stand the way she treated others when it comes to money.

Even though life's been busier than before,

and reduce on sugar intake.

Few days ago, we had a group discussion based on the reading material we were given during our History and Theory in Design tutorial session. Some how.... I felt like, WE , the future potential architects should present our assignments in another way. A way where no lies should be told.

Of course, we have to sell our designs and ideas with all the positive characteristics.
But, I think we should add in another session after all the positives are finish presented.
A session where we tell the clients, the tutors, the lecturers or who ever it can be, about the shit in our designs.

Then, why are we calling our design SUSTAINABLE? or 'more sustainable'?
From the view point of a pessimist, I personally think that we should name it 'less destructive'.

"Not that we are trying to deny the truth, but we are trying to look more positive."

haha.... I know it's kind of harsh to put it this way.

But it's good to know that we are actually nothing at all.

爱情电影

应该有一段时间没有看电影了。。。
看到老弟在网上share了这部《八十后》。

本电影的开场曲是张国荣的《有谁共鸣》。。。
不知道为什么李芳芳导演要用这首歌。。。
词曲唱都很不错，只是悲了点 :' )

这部电影的故事纲要环绕于男女之间的纷纷绕绕，还ok啦。。。
值得一提的是，剧中的男主角是个建筑设计师哦！=D
(感觉上有点自己讲，自己爽的感觉...who cares?)

剧里的角色都蛮写实下的，男女主角都是放不下旧爱的那种。。。
可以说“藕断丝连”吧？还是 fatt hau leh?
幸好双方都是“放不下”的那种类型，不然，结局应该会很悲。

但，我觉得比较贴切现实世界or我的世界的是主角旁边的配角吧！
我佩服那女配角隔了半个世纪的表白，尤其是在SARS袭击的那一刻，简直就是不到黄泉都不说我爱你。也许人类大都需要老天爷的那么的一推吧？

轰轰烈烈爱过的当儿，在一切结束后，却能以坦荡的心却去面对，一个字-服！

难得看完一部爱情片。。。。呵呵~

a simple-not-so-simple food

I know that I've been complaining about stuffs around me through my blog for the past few posts and practised my more-than-over imagination power (in the previous post).

So, better get something more positive!! YA YA Yayh~! XD

For the past few nights, me and my friends have been rushing on assignments and lacked of sleep.....

arrhhh.... I hate to stay overnight! (=____=) and fish in the class on the next day.

I felt so stressed till I made my self Chinese crullers or 油条 or 油炸鬼 (Char Kueyh),

However you guys call it.

This is my first time... and miraculously..... IT WORKS!!! DAMN! (^~^)V

made a hill of Euw Zhar Kueyh with fish fillet & green bean congee,
Very healthy leh~ (not the char kueyh though) XP

I'm not really that into 'Eu Char Kueyh' when I was in Penang, but now every bit and pieces that will remind me of Malaysia is ..... is...... is........ is....... don't know how to put it. (I just don't like mentioning the word 'PRECIOUS', a typical Chinese who's always hard to give others' compliments)
I JUST LIKE TO EAT, that's it! =P

The worst part is me and my group mates know nothing about what the lecturer is writing in our assignment feedback section, and I confronted him.

First time I ask a lecturer :

"What do you ACTUALLY mean by writing THIS?!"

Yes... first time, first time in my life for confronting the academic staff regarding the results. (from kindergarten till now) It's either I'm too lazy or the staffs are totally hopeless (just like once in my college).

家里来的包包

前几天刚收到家里寄来的包包。
其实，也不是第一次收到家里来的包包，
真的要感谢猪猪耗钱，耗力，耗油，耗神，
把它们寄过来，有我的scientific calculator, 年糕，贺岁专辑，驾驶执照等。。。

前几天收到的包包其实也没什么的啦，
- 一件犯太岁的衣（庙里来的）
- 一张符

that's all.... 哈哈，应该是我爸坚持我弟寄来的吧？
老实说，虽然我并没有我爸那么诚恳，那么诚心，
但，只要让他能够放心一点点的东西，要我能做的，我都愿意去做。
从前，我会觉得他会偏向较迷信的那一方，
但现在，我只要他不买Toto,大马彩，万能 etc., 我都ok. =P
人嘛~没有一个是完美的，只是看你从哪个角度看罢了 (>_<)V

众多包包中，我还是最喜欢这份包包。
我帮它找了个有点大的框。
它总是摆在“ok绷”aka plaster 的旁边，
因为它们有着同样的疗伤效果 XP

First day...

This is the 2nd post for today. The reason for me to blog for twice in such a short time is because I learnt something today.

Just like what I've said in my previous post, I went for a try out on my new job, as?
As a waiting staff in a small size restaurant - Smokey Joe's. It's not far from my house, just around 5 minute cycle.

It's good to get out from the Indian Restaurant which I've been working for the past few months and experience something different. I seldom talk when I first meet someone, but I sure like to observe people, no matter what time, what occasion. In short, I often stalk. XP

The boss (John) - So far, I have no comment yet for the boss. But it's good that he told me "I won't get pissed off for no reason, and I won't yell unless there's a sensible reason". I would prefer someone to be frank before situation's tangled up.

The trainer (Zac) - He's a nice guy, with a slight level of M-shape baldness. (something like my friend-Ming Cai) Early sign of aging? XP He used to be an Architecture student, but now he's in Education. Generally, he's a nice guy to learn something from. Quote of the day "Don't worry, you'll get better than me soon" =P eheeehhhh~

The kitchen hand a.k.a Boss' son (Hunter) - With a head full of curly hair (similar to an afro though XD), he talked soft and fast. Sometimes, I don't really get what he's saying, I just smile and..... make myself looked stupider. >_

Chef (Forgotten his name) - I think I would call him - the BMW boy whose still holding a 'P' license. Didn't get the chance to chat with him, just said "HI - BYE".

I think I'm the kind of person who's always clumsy when I'm at the start of something new. Like today. I almost spill a glass of Coke on a middle-age woman's dress. Phew~luckily just the menu got wet, and the woman was pretty friendly as well. Phew~...... if not, I think I would have chopped my own head down by now. haha....

Nothing much, just that I'm still kind of overwhelmed by the menu list, especially the name for all the spirits and wines. Duh~ they're like a pain in the ass...haha
and guess what! I LEARNT TO USE A COFFEE MACHINE (like those in Starbucks and Coffee Bean!!)
*I know I sounded like a primate just came out from jungle, I just simply couldn't help it*
and unfortunately "I SUCK!!! SUCK!!! SUCK!!!! SUCKkkkhh!!!" suck like a slug!! >_

No matter what,

The brand new 2011 1st semester has already started and I really hope that I can do it better than last year's. Not just academic, life with just academic excellence doesn't mean anything to me. (I didn't say academic stuffs can be neglected! Especially for people like me) XD

Just came back from hospital with my house mate, hopefully everything will be fine soon.

Seriously, I've never notice how much I loath to go into a hospital. I don't like the smell of the chemicals, I don't like the low temperature inside the building, and there's always a corner where sunlight is never able to reach.

Don't worry, it's not me, just that my house mate got and infection. Hope nothing will go serious, if not, it's really serious. =(

An unexpected call

It's just the 3rd day of my second year, yet all the assignments came pouring down like rain...haha
The feeling is totally different from 1st year... XP
All in all, the most important thing is still time management.
In amidst of all those assignments pouring down.... life will always give you something occasionally which will either make your day worse or brighten up everything.

Like this afternoon, my phone rang and the number appeared on the screen is an unknown number.
I hesitated for a moment and finally picked it up....

"Helloooooo........ Song?!"
"Hmm...? Chuck?...haha" *I started to laugh, for no reason.....haha..... weirdo?*

Chuck, he's the partner I worked with in the apple farm, a Korean who's already in his 26 but face looked like 18 and below... XP

Nothing much actually, we just chat, chat, chat and chat... haha
He's going back to Korea this Friday, which means another 2 days, and good news is he's transiting in Kuala Lumpur. But the bad news is I'm still in Tassie. duh~ it's pathetic to know that your friend is coming to your country but you won't be there. = (

But, I'm glad... or should I say 'very happy'? that he called before he leave.Maybe I might not be able to see any traces of him anymore in my life, even in this world filled with virtual social networking like FB and twitter. Life is still life, the net net thingy is no substitution for it...... not even a little.

As usual, he asked me.... again.... to find a gf, and I told him to marry and set up a family ASAP. haha....
Nothing much, I just hope that he'll get a good and stable job in South Korea and always be happy.

Before hang up, he told me

What I discovered is that a simple call from someone unexpected can be really really really really..... hmmm...... I don't know how to put this, but I clearly know that I like the feeling I'm having now.

Landed on Gold Coast!

Finally, after an hour of delay in our flight,

we left the Metropolitan city of Melbourne and

headed towards the tropical land - GOLD COAST!!

Luckily, the area was not affected by 'Yasi'

Overall, the main activity in Gold Coast will be none but the theme parks.

The first one that we visited is the SEA WORLD.

It's mainly a theme park filled with aquamarine life.

I'm not really a big fan of animal show, so it's just average for me.

The weather turned wet after around half an hour we arrived at the park.

Wet-wet-wet....... but at least it's not cold.

Me: Ooopss! ... look like it's not really that "family-friendly" after all. XP

Had a pirate show for the afternoon session.
Not that bad, at least no chance of animal abuse. >_

Before going back to our accommodation,

we manage to stopped by at the polar bear section.

Bear Bear: amm....ammm......yumm....yummm *chewing the tuna given*

Me: NO WONDER LAHHH!! Its buttock is so HUGE!!!

haha.... it reminded me a popular saying by the older people

"If you sit down or lay down immediately after your meal,

This trip can be considered as the last escape before my Uni recommences. To where?
GOLD COAST!黄金海岸！
A place which shares the same weather with Malaysia, hot and humid. To me, it's heavenly heaven. (o^ ~ ^o)
Before reaching Goldcoast, I have to transit at Melbourne. Too bad, no KBU'ians there =(
Hmm... what can I say about Melbourne?.....
It's a city, definitely a metropolitan, especially for a Tassie boy who has been indulging himself in the Australian Bush for the past 365 days.
*yes, exactly 365 days after I've reached Tassie*

At first, we didn't really plan to go into the Melbourne city.

What we first planned was just hanging around the Melbourne airport,

sleep here and there,

hanging around again,

sleep here and there again....

and make ourselves bored.

But

How can we stand rooted on the ground when there's a metropolitan city out there!!??

We checked out the fare needed to be paid to get onto the city express shuttle.

It was DAMN BLOOD SUCKING SKYROCKETING HIGH!
*well..... for a shuttle bus* XP

So, we rented a car which is almost hundred dollar cheaper than our bus fare in total.

I noticed they called it 'Freeway', which means toll free, while the one named Centrelink is not.

Another unusual thing about the toll is they don't have toll station to collect the toll fees.

Instead, they have a speed camera to capture the registration number of the vehicles

and bill will reach the doorstep of the owners.

Canggih kan!? No queue, which means less jamming along the road.

要一年了

如果照着农历计算，我离家的日子也快要一年了。快吧？

哈哈。。。读了以上的那一段，你们应该感觉到我又要开始写我的感触了吧？

还记得，去年。。。

接到大学通知书后，再经过政府的批准，
拖了再拖，又和老弟跑下吉隆坡，过后又自己跑下了一趟。
只有一个字----->>累 (=____ = ) 哈哈~ 我房友Franky常说：“习惯就好”

离农历新年还有差不多一个星期，接到了政府的一通电话，
肯定了机票的日期和时间。咳~看来没得过完新年了 X(

当家里的老薯和老蟹获知我的飞机起飞日期时，老薯坚持要老蟹带我到处告知亲戚，
从槟城，到吉打。。。我觉得我的脸皮其实还蛮厚的...哈哈
为何？因为当亲戚们知道我将在新年之前离开槟城时，立刻把只有在新年期间才发的红包封塞了给我，而且大多数都是蓝绿色的。弄我paiseh到。。。。*顿时词穷*。。。总之Paiseh就对了啦! 真的，除了“感恩”这两个字，我想不到我能说些什么了。

hmm....除了尝试提早拿到红包的滋味，还尝到提早吃团年饭的滋味。XD 第一次在新家吃团圆饭，还不错，只是人数少了。如果能全家一齐挤在一个不够大的"大”桌，我想应该会更加不错吧。。。哈哈。以后我要买张不够大的“大”桌。

到了除夕夜的那天，心里其实还蛮ok的，想做的也许没全做到，但要做的大都做了，该做的应该也七七八八了呱~，能做的我想我都做了吧？只是心里有点点。。。我想我可以说‘奢望’吧？
我奢望能够全家齐齐全全地排在旧家面前拍张需要"super ultra wide lens" 才能拍到的全家福。现在回一回想，感觉有点措手不及。当时应该自食其力，找个专业摄影师，应该还不难的。需要的只是天时地利人和。。。难咩？哈哈。。。初生之犊不怕虎吧？

有个一样在外地求学的朋友说了这么一句话：
“以前总羡慕人家到国外深造，和老外交朋友
没想到现在自己有机会了，却感觉这一切
一点都不好”

对我来说，到外国深造就像在吃石榴一样。

石榴，石榴，虽然听起来好像很硬，其实它只有薄薄的一层皮。
只要你穿过了，你就能品尝到它的果子。
但，果子有甜也有酸，就看你挑到哪些了。
往往生活里要挑的果子太多了，我们能做的只有把一切，
一并吞下。甜酸掺半，还ok啦...
记得曾经在《星云》读过一句”有求，心才会苦”
不管果子是甜是酸，切记做人千万不可过于苛求。
不管是对自己，还是对他人也好，有望就好。
咬得太深是会咬到石榴那苦苦的种子的，要不然，
咬到的就是自己的舌头。 =P

如果要说去年新年最难忘的是什么，我觉得应该是经历很多人生的“第一次”吧!

在500米的高空里，膝盖放着刚叮好的飞机餐。。。

Tore Tau Kueyh 花生饼

My friends always ask me : Do you really love to cook that much?

I will always give them a few giggles and said : I live to eat.

haha... typical Penangite huh? XD

Ya, it's true, especially when you're overseas and you miss the food at your hometown *especially your mum's not-guarantee-tasty-but-always-hearty meal*

and the only solution is either you forget about them or

roll up your sleeves and move your hand in the kitchen!

Of course I took the second option. Remember? I'm born to eat. XP

As Chinese New Year is approaching, of course I miss all the kuih making session with my mum and my aunties. Even though I do get some nagging and instructions delivered in high pitching voice, I still love it! Especially the moment the cookies were sent into the oven and soon the aroma filled the air, and finally came out and awwh~.... I'm drooling..... XD

Last year I did blog about the lurve letters a.k.a kuih kapit making in my house.

But this time, I'm going to blog about peanut cookies, Penang Hokkien would call it 'Tore Tau Kueyh", and my Malay friends call them Kuih Mazola. What ever it is, the thing matters to me is the 'YumYum" factor. XP

Alright, let's move our hands!

First, roast some peanuts till they're fragrant and almost burnt.

Then remove the skin of the peanut and blend them till they're fine.

But in my case, I would prefer to have some texture in it, so I didn't really blend until the peanuts turn into powder.

To produce the dough as shown above, mix the peanuts with ......

some plain flour (of course coles smart saver, the cheapest brand!)

normally the proportion would be peanut:flour = >2:1

if you want your kuih to melt into your mouth at the moment you put them in.

*that's a tip from my aunt, thanks 芳姑！*

some peanut oil

some caster sugar

before sending them into the oven, I brushed them with some egg yolk and a little egg white

Thanks to the 'awesome' weather, with rain continuously for 4 days, my journey in the farm has come to an end. =(

Hmm... I think it's time to settle my enrolment for new semester and ready for my Gold Coast trip. And of course, this post will be a wrap up for my farming experience.

I would say that working in a farm is not hard, just tiring. Everyday, you have to reach the farm by 7.30am, and in my case, I would wake up around 5.30am, dilly-dally for a while, take some brekkie and cook my lunch. Normally, I would be out by 0700, because it takes at least 30 minutes to reach the farm by driving, and thank God, it's summer!!! If not, I think I would take 1 hour to toss and turn on my bed, another 1 hour to flip and flap on my bed, 1 hour to dilly-dally here and there..... and finally slack back to my comfy bed. XD

There's no photos of me working in the farm... *sob-sob* The rain came in too sudden, and it's already my last day in the farm before I knew it. =( However, one of the great advantage of working as cherries picker is you get to eat as much cherries as you want. Of course, there's no reason for me not to 'tapao' some back. haha.... shhh.....

It's heavenly great when you freeze up some cherries and eat them while you're watching movies or reading books, or even gossiping with your friends in the middle of the night. They tasted just like slushies in the shop!! Gosh~ I think I'm addicted to them, haha....

They contain heaps of:

-Vitamin C

-Vitamin A

-Bioflavonoids

-Ellagic acid (a kind of antioxidant)

-Perilly (alble to arrest tumour cells)

-Anthocyanins (another powerful antioxidants)

-Melatonin (another antioxidant) and many more good stuffs.

But, be careful with the sugar level.... You won't want to end up with too much glucose either. *All these are info from the web*

Steps to a successful cherry jam making:

First, ~~smuggle some cherries from the farm~~ buy some fresh cherries and wash them thoroughly.

Second, de-stone and de-stem the cherries. Or should I say,

"buang batang dan bijik cherri"? a.k.a. castrate the cherries XP

第二个步骤！马上"阉割"洗干净的樱桃！

太监的都挂在墙上，樱桃的则留在盘中。。。erbs~

*Back to the topic*

-Heat up the ~~castrated~~ processed cherries until it boils,

-Bring down the heat and let it simmer till they're soft and mushy.

-Cool them down and put them into a blender and blend till the flesh and skin of the cherries are squashed till unrecognisable *KEJAM nyer~*

-Pour them back into the pot and bring it to the same simmering as before.

-Put in as little or as much sugar as you like. In my case, I only put in 3 tablespoon of sugar.

"OMG!!! 3 tablespoon of sugar for 1.5kg of cherries?"

"What to do?... I've to jaga badan mah~" haha.... duh~ XP

- Actually I notice that you don't really need much sugar for this jam. The natural glucose content in the cherries is more than enough.

- Before switching off the stove, *optional*

-add in a few tablespoon of lemon juice (to add a zesty flavour to the jam)

-mix in a tablespoon of cornflour (to thicken up the jam)

It's really hard to find time to sit down and blog about your recently life when you are busy with work. However, the weather bureaucracy sent out a flood warning in the early morning. Therefore, it means no work today. Yay~! Gonna get some rest! But, sigh~ no work means no money, no money means no honey. =P

You all must be wondering what's appiee, I bet. haha... just my own term for apples. In the farm, I notice the supervisor always end the noun he use in "-ie"

for example, when he's suppose to say

"Go and have a check on the row you have done just now"

he would say: "Go and have a checkie on your previous row"

I also discover many Aussie terms they use in the farm (or should I say Tassie?).

'tea' = 'dinner'

'smoko' = 'small break between work' (perhaps for those who smoke, I think)

and of course many more XD

The farm I work in is called Carlthorpe a.k.a. Top Qual. The company is based in Hobart (capital city of Tasmania), just that its major apple farm is in Lonnie.

Alright, I'm too lazy to elaborate any further. Let the photos do the talking!

There're many species of apples in the farm, eg. Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Royal Gala, Pink Lady, Jazz, Granny Smith, Fuji .... etc.

Just to let you know the amount of crates used to shift the apples during the apple picking season. See the building behind the crates? It's almost 4 storey high.

Gosh~ who knows what'll happen when the crates fall? XD

The one in the picture above is Granny Smith, which we normally call "Granny's Apple"

Guys, meet Kris...... and his sexy jeans XP

I had a Korean working partner and this bloke is my current partner. His background is rather complicated or should I say "A fuzz of life"? He was a drug addict *OMG!* , and now he's major in Fine Arts *WHAT~!?", and specialised in oil painting. hmmm... what can I say about him?

hmm..... Quiet but definitely hard working (he's so far the best working partner I can find on the farm, because the pay you get is the speed of your work, and your partner's as well)

The supervisor always repeat their favourite quote:

"One big, one small.... Take big, leave small

Many big, many small.... Take small, leave Big

Many small, no BIG.... Take them all

All medium, take till there's 1/2 left"

Another Malaysian in the farm, who's also an architecture student,

just that he's taking master. And we are the only Asians, but who cares?

Finally, my apple thinning job is coming to an end in few days time, and I'm going into cheery picking after that.

"Money~ Money~"

That's really the sole motivation you can get when you feel tired from working. When you think of that, your will feel that your hands have been revived and start moving again. haha.... Money is not everything, but I'm sure there're a list of things you won't be able to do without money.

Nothing much about this post... just that sometimes money does change a person and others around. *sigh~*
