Comforting food

Continuing from the previous post is this, and it's about FOOD! Yay!
If I'm correct *didn't really calculate*, we caught like about 55-ish fish.
That's a new record for our fishing team and I personally caught my biggest as well! =D
Well, after the exhausting and almost-24-hours fishing trip, it's MAKAN time!!
We had a Fish Feast 满鱼全席 at one of the Hong Kong friends' house.
I think I shall cut the word short and let the dish smells!!! haha...

After the dinner, we were planning to watch some movies. Unfortunately, the projector bulb blew up for no reason. Oh.... nooooo~
So, we ended up playing 'killer' game.

The one with cards and another narrator as well.

Overall, we had heaps of laughter and fun and it's really a good thing to let our hair down during the break.

Before and start of Easter break

Presented my very first design studio in 4th year and ...hmmm....
things didn't get along very well. The lecturer and tutors change their mind way too often, which lead us to changing ours as well. In the end..... we  become a rolling stone that gather no moss. DAMN~
But, still, I am relieved that it's possible to change/fix it.

On the other hand, just before our break, we had a pretty unusual Building Technology class. Our new lecture, Tim who's a Singaporean, called in a team of Tassie fire brigades and share with us some of their fighting experience and thought about building design in a fireman's perspective.

Don't doubt your eyes, our lecture hall was actually filled with CO2 to immitate the situation when visibility is almost zero. We were told to crawl out of the class *like in the movies*, but only Tim and 1 classmate actually crawled out. >_<!

Class Fishing at the East Coast

Went to St Helense and Scamander (east coast tasmania) with my classmates for a fishing + picnic trip on last Thursday.

spent 9AUD = RM27 on this new 小红

Most of my classmates went back around dinner time while the hardcore one stayed back to fill up the bucket.

Auau, Johnson and I stayed till 12 midnight. Luckily, we manage to fill our bucket up.

Drained

Have been living through my 4th year for the past 4 weeks.
Not too bad, just that sometimes it's really tiring.
Especially the design studio on Tuesday (just finished it just now, that's why I'm ranting here).
Everyweek, nine to five, nine to five, nine to five....
Somemore, all the tutors and lecturer seem to have their VERY own point of view on things.
That makes things really complicated.
"We are not genie in a lamp.... we can't grant everybody wishes."
Well..... maybe sometimes we have to be. =S

But, so far we have been working pretty well in my group *of 4*,
despite some PC breaking down issues and being told that we will never get a job if we design like that.

Time to get going!

The East and West

Have been seeing some not-so-good news about my home country on the net.
Kind of depressed when you heard that foreigners are claiming his so-called lands on your so-called lands.
and this provoked thoughts about the relationship between the West and East for the past half century.
It's a country, but made up of two big chunk of lands and seriously, I've never experience the life there at the East.

Have friends from there, but so far, never make it there YET.
... ...

Alright... cut all the crap and be realistic.
WILL that state be ruled by other country or
Will it be split up and given away like what you do to your birthday cake every year?

Some people said that it's the opposition's brainchild while
others put it as the federal government's tactics to win over the rakyat's heart in this coming election.
No idea about it.... politics are so ruined yet we still need to live with it, pathetically.
I wish I live in Disney channel now.haha.. as if...

If you have mix of friends from the East and West,
you will notice quite some drastic differences in them on FB.
Most of the Easterners are already asking for God's mercy while
some of the Westerners are still talking about their daily curry mees and roti canai.
Well..... you can't expect people who live in desert to stock up on canned food
when typhoon is hitting the tropics, can you?
Nothing is impossible, perhaps the oasis will overflood someday?

Don't know..... we have been educated in an environment where students like us know nothing that we can possibly do in such situation. Are we puppets? who waits to loose our control on our life after the puppeteer dies? Can we still carry on the show?

Being so far doesn't make much sense if I say I know what's happening there.... way back there.

But, just hope that it will still be the East and West and not the East and the West.

Too much philosophical stuffs ehh?

遗漏

回到塔斯快要一个礼拜了，但，还是会有点点的想家。
虽然，以习惯了来来回回的生活，但还是得有一段时间适应。
毕竟过去的那两个月是五年里面放过最长的假期。
第一次从二十八放到初十四耶！

回来的第一天就匆匆的跑去和朋友看房子。
看了几间，选了一间比较“不大”（好打理）和去买东西较方便的那间。
房子里包了三间房，但目前还在找着第三位。=S

我和朋友们都一致的认为，我们好像把一半的心留在老家了。
不过，很快，两年眨眼就过了的！（前提是没有‘肥佬’啦！）
有点想再去找工的念头。。。但，怕handle 不来。
看看先吧~ 如果真的有空档再找找。

晚安

Reached Lonnie like almost a week ago, and life's still as old here.
Not completely homesick but sure have the feeling of home-missing lingering in the air, still.
Eventhough has been living this kind of adapting-and-readapting life,
it still take some time to re-re-adapt, though~
Not to mention, I had the longeeeest ever holiday in my entire 5-year student life.

Once touched down, took a quick shower, I went for a few house and room inspections.
In the end, my friend and I chose one which is small, cozy and near to the supermarket and Uni library.
However, there's still a vacant room in the house...=S

Most of us *Asians who went back home for holidays* agree that half of the hearts are left back home.
But, I'm sure 2 years won't be too long.
Just pray hard that things are going to go well.... and
GRADUATE ON TIME!
DAMN!

With or Without FATE

With or without fate, I was brought back to this island.
An island which I had spent my 3-year-bachelor-degree.
It's kind of over to say that I hate this place,
but I'm sure I still love my TJBG more.
The water here is clearer, but colder.
Beach is cleaner, but rarely see anyone on it.

This big yet small island of Tassie,
I'm not sure why I chose it instead of other big major cities like
Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide.
Maybe it's fate and a little spirit of rebellious and yearning for more adventure and independence.

But, the past 2 month holiday made me cherish my home and here as well.
走久了，跑累了，回家避避雨，吹吹风，真的还不错！

Found a house on my first day back here *GASP!*
but took a risk of maybe over budgeting as the house is meant for 3 person but there're only 2 of us.
HOPEFULLY will find the last kaki soon...! (stay positive)

Nothing much but hope that this year will be a blessful year with things running smoothly.

Having a class tomorrow morning, gonna brush ma teeth and sleep soon.

p/s: I doubt I'll have time to update all my trips. =S

Things learnt

Practically, tonight will be the last night where I'll still be touring around both Cambodia and Vietnam.
This is because we'll be catching an early bus tomorrow morning (around 0630) from Siem Reap toPhnom Penh and crossing the border to Chau Duc then Ho Chih Minh City before flying back KL.

Vietnam, a country with a strong communist government. It can be said to be lucky if you're viewing from the political perspective *not so much on economy*. Taking Korea as a comparison, Vietnam's economy is clearly thousand miles away. But, things like national unity is relatively hard to gain. If Vietnam wasn't ruled by Uncle Ho Chi Minh, it will most probably end up like North Korea and South Korea in the present.

While for Cambodia, its civil war only  ended around 1992, and this made the country to have a late start in economy. It can be seen that the people here are poorer, even the dogs are skinnier! XP  However, people are more honest (comparing with Vietnam) and simple.

If Malaysia were to be put together with these two, I can say that we are much more worse in the way cultural heritage is preserved. Sad~

Well... you can't expect to have everything, because even animals have problems! *quoted from famous lady, you know who she is*

most probably won't blog about the trip since still have heaps about my graduation trip.

It's my 5th day in Vietnam and so far, things're not too bad
and got my eyes opened after such a long time.

First, the traffic in Hanoi should be listed as one of the wonders throughout the world. There are so many motorbikes that they make your balls shrink when you try to cross a Hanoi road for the very first time. NO KIDDING.

Second, the people here practice double standard everywhere, every corner. If they figure out you're not Vietnamese, then OMG.... they're so gonna slash you like a pig! Mati habis!

Third, at Sapa, even though people have a simpler life and things are like >10 years backwards, they're happy and content pretty easily. A sugar cane or a free car ride is what made up someone's daily life here.

Last, do I really looked like Korean? haha... 8 out of 10 local and tourists guessed my nationality to be Korean.

1st day in Sydney

Was talking about posting my trip.... There you go!
THE VERY VERY FIRST DAY!!!

I caught the early flight from Lonnie to Sydney.
It took me 3 years to reach one of the most iconic cities in Australia, can't believe it? not even myself *ha!!*

I was rather anxious at first on the plane.
First is I'm gonna meet my junior JJ after 3 years of not seeing him.
and second is I'm really really unsure about my trip.
Especially the transportation in Sydney.... after being in Kampung Lonnie for so damn LOOOONG.

Luckily, I met a new friend on the early flight.
His name is Sai, (not PSY, even though I wish he is) XP
We got along pretty well, and found out that we actually share quite a number of similarities.
We are both the eldest among our siblings, the only one in Aussie with family back home (he's from Cambodia). He's just completed his degree in medicine and going to sit for his test before taking up housemanship as a General Practitioner.
With his help, I got my Multipass at a convinience shop successfully! YAAATAA!

Afterwards, I boarded a 400 bus franticly with JJ guiding me through the mobile. 

The line wasn't really clear at that time. What I heard is just:

"when you see........mall.......turn...... then you will..... right....traffic light"

当时真的听到心都凉了。。。

I decided to hang the phone off, and rely on text. 

It's hard.... but at least more stable, at least you won't get a missing sentence.

With the help of texts and the google earth I did before, I manage to arrive not lost. XP

I almost shout out to a guy who resembles my junior at first (I realise my ability to differentiate asians has actually drop...haha... I keep calling the wrong person from far) >_<!!!!

After meeting up, we went for lunch at an Indon restaurant, which is not too bad. =D

Then, we headed to his uni, the University of New South Wales.

收拾

还有不久即将回到一年四季皆夏的故乡了！
盼这天很久了，但，没有意想中的兴奋。
意外的是。。。整理家跟打包行李还真的有种洗涤心灵的效应！
这三年来，说来好像很长，但眨下眼，又过去了。
除了不少收获，当然遗憾也不少。
人就是那么的不满足！哈！谁叫我是人~
收拾的当儿，也想起了刚到Australia的我。

二月十四号二零一零年
除夕夜的飞机餐，丰富但乏味
初一的悉尼机场，对第一次出国的人来说，真的大到妈妈都找不到！
还有初二的塔斯，人生地不熟到心都凉了*没夸噢！*

还记得刚到的时候参与了个塔斯的农历新年庆典，
记得有个一起参与，高高瘦瘦的中国大兄说我的唐装很好看，
可惜，失去联络了。
如果在街上碰见，但认不出你，
请多多原谅，愿一切安康！=D

还有两个让我们寄宿的大哥。
其中一个在第一天来到就穿着boxer欢迎我们 =___= lll
希望你们现在的工作一切顺利！
永远不会忘记你们的那辆车。
一转弯就会发出好像快要脱落的声音，
所以我们都叫它"monster"。
后来听说你们逼不得已将它给回收了吧？
愿它安息！哈哈~

原因简单：如果花钱像把大便大出来那么容易；那么赚钱必定像把大便塞进口般难。
哈哈。。。you know ma style, dirty but makes sense.

二姑的行李用到现在还在用着。

Tired 累

After an almost 4 week break with family around Aus, I actually feel more tired, but very content.
We travelled from Sydney to Tasmania and dropped by at Melbourne before catching a flight to KL and finally PG. (I'm back in Tassie as usual~ haa~)
The journey was so long till I'm not sure whether I should even blog about it, maybe?

子非鱼，更非鱼弱 The Sardines

It's quite a thought-provoking film. Within 30 minutes, it brought me through heaps of thinking.
The film is about a university student's life in Japan.
Adapting while rejecting to all the social norms in a brand new environment is not an easy task.
In the clip, the main character 余凡 (which sounds similar to 鱼凡 'an ordinary fish'), chose not to retreat from the harsh situation when tsunami strike Sendai.
To him, humans regularly live like a school of sardines.
They are highly attracted to light, swim in a uniform direction with an ultimate aim.
Being the bottom of the food chain, they exist in huge number and often stay in an unenthusiastic situation. Unless there is a larger prey around, they, the sardines normally died due to lack of variation and often too predictable.
In short, LAZINESS.

Sometimes, we thought we are sharks,
we prey our own food,
we find our own direction.

But, many things are not in our fins *hands*
the water temperature, current, tidal change, moonlight intensity.... etc.

Still, we have our fins.

You know what I mean? =D

回忆

今天，去了河口和朋友野餐。

无意间，发现了个再也熟悉不过的声音。

“咚!咚！”

应该至少也有五六年了吧？

龙舟，中学升上高中时最爱的活动之一。

真的，没了它跟童军，我的中学生涯该不会跟垃圾有两样吧！

不管天气好坏，海水高涨还是低潮，隔天有test还是没有test,

照样每个周末杀去海边练习。
现在回想起来，真的还蛮热血一下的！

“咚！！咚！！”

推着脚踏车，不知觉地往栏杆靠了去，视线也不知觉地在他们身上停了有几十秒之久吧~
龙舟上的那些ang mo 也好热情哦！！！看我把照相机朝向他们，竟然也用oars 跟我招手！

那种说不出的情怀，真的。。。好想大喊

“CAN I JOIN YOU GUYS!!!????"

问题是。。。要毕业了，paiseh 嘛~
