Days being a tourguide (after being a biker)

Like what the title has told you, after being a biker I decided to be a part time tour guide. This is because my friend, Tony is coming to Penang to spend his Raya holiday. (It's better than letting yourself rot in the studenthouse...haha)

Yes....PART TIME, which mean I'm not a professional one and I don't think I'm a good one either. (=___=) Therefore, I found myself a PART TIME assistant tourguide from a list of Penangites:

1. Ginger - Went to Hatyai with his family (reason accepted)

2. Jaevon - Kena jaga rumah sebab tiada orang kat rumah

(is this a valid reason? NO!!) No offence to ah ma. XP

3. Atiqah - Masih dalam RAYA mode

4. Izat - Sama jugak, masih dalam RAYA mode.

5. Hooi Ying & Joel - Don't want to trouble them since they're not on the island.

OMG!!! This means I was left with the ONLY choice......

Put your hands together for KCV's hubby!! BENG BENG!!

Okay, enough of rubbish intro, let's move on to the main content of this post.

1st day aka 1st station: Penang National Park/Canopy Walk/Keracut Beach

This is his 1st time visiting Penang National Park after being a Penangite for 19 years and 1 month +..... (no comment)

Finally!! We arrived safely!! After one and a half hour plus of torturing
(according to BENG BENG)

The sand was DAMN hot HOT HOT !!!

As hot as Megan Fox.... (she's not that hot afterall) XP

One of the special spot in Penang National Park - The Meromictic Lake

It means the lake is like a transvestite SPECIAL.

It consists 2 layers of water - seawater and freshwater. Besides, due to it's location in between of the rivermouth and the sea, the hotter and denser seawater will sink to the bottom while the cooler and less dense freshwater will float to the top. This cause the lakewater to be cool on the surface and hotter at the bottom.

The sandy beach was cleaner and less polluted than those found at Batu Ferringhi.

So, we decided to taste some!!!

According to Tony, they taste like cheesecake!!

Side effects after consuming the cheesecake flavoured sand:

Some will suddenly become emotional (like Sarah) XP

Some will start posing around like as if they were participating in PNTM

For lovebirds, they will start missing another half of them....

Basically, they become lovesicked!!

aiyo....sudah kenakan orang lain, terpaksalah kenakan sendiri.....

Some will start dancing and singing around like what you see in "Hairspray" and "Mama Mia"

We strolled along the beach for around half an hour and decided to head back because the day is turning dark already.

Washing.....rubbing.....scrubbing.......rinsing......cleaning...

(seperti sedang mendulang) XD

I had my evening snack before departing back.

Tale of a biker (by Kelvin)

Few days ago, when I just came back from KL, I went cycling together with my friends. It's my first time in my 18 years of life as a Penangite to cycle from my house to the town area.

I can't really use other words to describe it, but only

HOT

TIRING

but

"SHIOK'!!!

Actually the blog title was not suggested by me..... it's my always-crazy friend, Kelvin. (he asked me to include him in my blog XP Anyone interested in him can get his number from me....better think twice... erbs!) We cycled to Georgetown, which has just received the title of 'Heritage City' and become part of UNESCO's World Heritage Cities Program. The main purpose of cycling all the way there is just to take photo.

It's never going to be easy for me

Two days ago, I had my EALD oral test and overall, I don't think I did it well. Anyway, I'm satisfied with the entire flow of the questioning session, except for one. Before I was asked to answer the questions given to me, there was a session where the testers have a normal chat with the students. They throw out all sorts of questions, regarding our daily lives, personal background, social life.... etc.

I was given a question, a question which is one of the questions that I hate the MOST in my entire life. I hate to make choices which require to rank things in my life. For example, what's your favourite food? favourite lecturer? favourite artists? worst comic? worst food? and many more.

I think it's because I'm the type that will always try to treat everything evenly, fairly .... .... at least in my own point of view. I don't like to rank things in my life because I believe

"THINGS CHANGE!!! "

(the only difference is how long will it take to stay the same)

I won't be able to give you an actual answer of their rank, they're not something factual!

I don't rank them like what others do and support the ranking with all sorts of rubbish-thesis-statement. But I think I can give you the list for the top three.

I have three answers in my heart when you asked me that question.

An animal, a vegetable and an unknown living thing
(I only gave you 1 answer at that time, because you forced me to) XP

To me, each of them

holds different roles at different time,

in different part of my life.

None of them will be able to substitue one another.

To me, they all differ,

with only one point similar.

They are unique in their own ways.

Choosing not to choose, doesn't mean I don't have a stand.

It's different from choosing vegetables or fruits.................

老师与水果商 Teacher & Fruit seller

几天前，在报章上看到了一篇短文。看了，读了，心领了，所以想和大家分享一下。

I saw this article on the paper few days ago..... I feel that it's quite apt with our lives.

标题：老师和卖水果的商人有何不同？

Title: What're the differences between fruit sellers and teachers?

（一）水果商交换的是物质；老师提供的是无形的知识与生活价值。

Fruit sellers trade in the form of material; teachers supplyin the form of knowledge.

（二）水果商迫求的是利益，是金钱的流动；老师努力的是感动的过程，是爱的流动。

F.sellers aim for profit, flow of currency; teachers hope to experience the teaching process, the flow of love.

（三）社会对水果商不会有太大的期待；但对老师往往都是抱以高度的期许。

The society won't have a high hope on fruit sellers; but society always cast numerous of mountaining expectations on teachers

（四）水果商只招呼眼前的顾客；老师除了关心班上的学生，还需与他们的家庭建立良性的互动。

F.sellers only respond to the customers standing right infront of them; but, teachers have to build a strong relationship with the students' family besides plainly teaching in the class.

（五）水果商面对的水果，多样化，但较单一。老师须掌握的学生，是单一的，亦是多样化的。

What f.sellers have to face is a fruit in many kinds; what teachers need to handle in one species of students but in many kinds.

(六）水果，商人和顾客之间的相处多半是短暂的；学生，老师与家人之间的影响却长久的。

Fruits, f.sellers and customers, most of the time only meet each other for a short period, just to fulfill each others' hunger for materials.

But students, teachers and parents can have an eternal impact on each other.

（七）腐烂的水果对水果商来说，不是放弃，扔掉，就是贱卖。老师则会设法引导成绩低落，行 为偏差的学生。

F.sellers will either give up, throw away or sell at a extremely low price, whe they meet a rotten fruit.

Teachers will figure all the ways to help students, who score poorly in academic or having a misbehaviour.

（八）水果商贩卖成熟的果实；老师孕育尚未成熟的种子（学生）。

F.sellers are to sell ripen fruit. Teachers are obligated to educate unripe seeds.

（九）水果商不会因为生意不好而“教训”水果；老师却往往会在求好心切下鞭策学生。

F.sellers will never hit the fruits when his business is down. But teachers will always cnae their students when they are desperate to see good results.

Which one you wanna be?

This kind of feeling.......

I don't like the feeling of counting down to tests.
I don't like the feeling of cramming everything into my head.
I don't like the feeling of lecturers keep telling us
"mock exam is COMING!!"
I don't like the feeling of being pushed into piles of books.
I don't like the feeling of arranging everything in order.
I don't like the feeling of being asked about details about tests.
I don't like
I just don't like.

But, I know
Counting down to tests makes me more cautious about my studies.
Cramming everything into my head will never happen, if I have prepared early.
Endless nagging from lecturers mean they do care, really.
Piles of books are nothing but success' key.
Everything in order makes me able to speed up and proceed.
Lack of details is a sign of lazy...........

Banting one-day trip

Hours before we reached this house..............

A group of JPA students made their way to Banting, one of our friend- Wei Xin's hometown. Banting, a small town it is, located around 1 and half hour drive from Petaling Jaya. We went in 2 cars, both Kancil, small but compact. :D It was bumpy along the whole journey and potholes were every where. It's like sailing.....feeling like in a sampan....... wooo~ woo~~ The road was complicated and I bet if I were asked to show the road again, I don't think I could recall it. XD

When we reached there, it's already noon and we had dinner together with Wei Xin's family at a Bak Kut Teh shop. It's kind of awkward for us to be separated into 2 tables, one for us and one for Wei Xin family......haha

What's wrong with me and Shun Jing? XD

After taking our lunch, we went back to Wein Xin's house and have some rest.

Here is what happen, when you invite your friends to your air-conditioned room which equipped with a comfortable bed.

At around 1.30pm++, we are on our move again....This time, our destination is the orchard farm.

Again, we have to pass through bumpy roads to reach the farm....poor little Kancil XD

It's located not far from Wei Xin's house and we reached there in around 5 minutes. Things do not always turn out the way we expected it would be, and we got the BAD news from the orchard workers- The ORCHARD is closed temporarily!!

Aarrhhh!! Nooo....ooo....ooooo (echoing)

Their reason is :

"all the tourists plucked the fruits while we are not looking and it causes damages to the trees".

Haizxx.....What can we do? The atmosphere turned out to be quite tense when Wei Xin parents tried their best, insisting to go in.

Below is a brief conversation between Wei Xin's mom and the worker:

WeiXin's mom: Worker:

"I just asked you last 2 weeks and you gave me the answer that we can visit the farm!!!

Now WHAT?!!"

"Cannot, Boss say CANNOT means 'CANNOT'!!!"

"Apalah you?! Last 2 weeks you still say can, now you say cannot? Are you playing with me? Can larr...."

"Boss said cannot means CANNOT!!" (I'm sicked of the word"BOSS")

"But, all of them came so far just to visit orchard and now you say CANNOT to us?!"

"You want to see tree horr? If you just want to see trees, just walk around lah! Got a lot..."

"... ..." (SUAN le!!)

Instead of farm visiting, we ended up tasting fruits outside the orchard. It was quite boring

......Therefore, WE DECIDED TO TAKE PICTURES!! We left not long after we finished the fruits since nothing can persuade us to stay longer.XD

Next stop is MORIB BEACH!!! (I think we studied it on geography textbook before.....)

It was quite a unique experience for me, although I have been staying near to beaches too. It's my first time witnessing ebb tide which manage to reach so farrrr.................(see the pictures)

Since we're here, we decided to walk till the end of it, inspite of the cell-killing afternoon sun.

OMG, it seems to be endless.....(that's what I really hope......)

After Morib Beach, our journey continued with a visit to a chips manufacture factory. It's a small factory and nothing much is fascinating, except that Wei Xin's father bought us lots of chips from there. (actually we chose it by ourselves) XD

WeiXin's mother is trying to distract the workers over there by chit-chatting, while Jia Jun is stealing some of the banana (-__=)

Afterthat, we had a light snack of :

cendol

After visiting the 'kerepek' factory, we went hiking at a small hill call 'Ham Sua'.....(if I'm not mistaken) The scenery on the hill was simply 'FU-YOH'!!!

Later, we bought the famous 'begger chicken' on our way back, before heading to a seafood restaurant. We had a scrumptious dinner at that seafood restaurant and it's my second time eating until so full after I came to PJ. (wanna know about the 1st time?....Find out yourself la!!)

After the dinner, we went back to PJ. Before stepping out of Wei Xin's house, we had a group photo with his family.



It was a nice trip and we enjoyed ourselves very much!! All of us learnt something from it.....
