Just came back from the 

Malaysian Student Association 1st ever potluck in 2012.

Not a bad day at all.

The weather felt like foreverevereverever-summer, 

with breeze at the level of just-nice,

one word ----> AWESOME =D *you can totally tell from the first picture*

The only sad thing is, not many new 1st year students attended the event =S
Well, will try harder next time. XD

很多要想。
但，觉得这次的课务会很有趣。哈哈...hope so

还有，本来说好‘金盆洗手’，放下学生团的东东。
但。。。肯愿意义务挺身的不多。
到最后，还是大多由老马们担起。
咳。。。真的需要吸入多些新兵。

有些朋友讽刺地问“不是不干了吗？”

吃饭得看肚子，拉屎得看茅厕，做人也得看情况的好吗？
虽然可以随时放下不理，但我不想这么做。

Lynas is not a new issue in Malaysia, but I'm not sure how it only got stirred up recently.



I've forgotten where I learnt this quote, but it's totally reasonable.
"No matter what decision you going to make,

The first week in the Uni passed just like that "snap!"
and, noticed a few new students came in, a few disappeared. =S
Hopefully, everything will flow smoothly.

Night out

Classes're going to resume, starting from tomorrow.
Well..... summer holiday is not even a blink of eyes, and it's already time for us to GET-SET and GO!

Had a small night out with my colleagues at the 'Black Cow', using the tip which we have been pulling for quite some time. It's a good night out, despite the  poorly-ventilated restaurant. Well, way better than winter! Saying it is freaking me out! >_
In all, a short post just before everything's kicking in! oh yeah!

Tonight's a warm night , and it feels just like HOME! oh man~ XD

Dusting off the rod

Well, the title've said what I've wanted to say.
Been fishing today, and not really good day though.
Caught 3 fish, 2 being undersized.
So, ended up with only the big one. =P (I'm not the sapu-all kind)

Then, sinker got stuck twice, and both ended with a broken string. sigh~
But.... looking from the bright side, it's not a bad thing at all.
I switched to a squid jig *cause run out of sinker, and can't fish!*

and got two of them!
Yay!

Watch a chinese movie downloaded from Youtube. *which the quality sucks!*
It's called 《非诚勿扰2》 or  "Your are the One II"
The movie kicks off with a de-wedding ceremony. Where a ceremony is created to celebrate the breaking up of a married couple. It's my first time knowing about this kind of ceremony as *for Asians* big celebration is always for something good, or is it?
The first half of the movie is just an average, revolving around a story of an almost-married couple. Lack with confidence, they decided to have a test-run on how well would they adapt to a married couple's life.
The husband's always truthful and straight-forward, while the wife's the type who knew the actual answer, but always never want to 'know' about it. So.... you can guess what's next.

However, there's a scene which impresses me a LOT! It's about the friend of the main characters, who found himself having Melanoma, and dying pretty soon.
It may sound absurd, but he held the first anniversary of his own funeral, while he's still conscious and alive!
His intention was to see as many people as he could and listen to what they have in their minds about him. After that, he chose to commit suicide and ordered to be planted in a pot.

Odd huh? Not really, it does make sense ... to me. XP

A week

A week away from home and I noticed a thing:

When you are away from home for a really long time and suddenly you got back,
Back to the state of being a homeboy. THE FEELING IS REALLY AMAZING....

Simple things like...
Seeing people you missed for a long time,
Eating stuffs you thought you would have forgotten how they taste like,
Basking in the warm tropical sunshine till the UV scorches your skin,
Filling your lung with the richly hydrated breeze (especially the one after a heavy downpour),
Gazing upon the sky, which is not purely azure blue, but a little grey.

You know you're back to the town,
The town you expected to have developed into a state where you can no longer recognise.
Yes it did,
but still...everything's so familiar.

I would call this the second-phase of homesickness.
haha.... it doesn't harm much as long as you don't dwell on it.
But it sure strikes more heavily than the first time (which surprises me).

Well, out of comfort zone, and
Again.... WE STRIVE and STRIKE!

Best to those back home and
whoever out there sharing the same thing as me.

爱情电影三部曲 Love trio

A few weeks more and uni life's gonna begin.
Feeling bored... nothing to do.... baggage's lost....
Well, searching for a few movies to watch.
Used to have thousands of wanna-watch-movies in my mind *especially during assignment period*.
But, the frequent delays have shed most of them from my mind.
Random google-ing does help when you have no idea what movie to watch.
Saw this movie on Youtube 将爱进行到底（电影版2011）Eternal Moment:


Luckily, found a complete series of it on Youtube.
Watched it and frankly speaking, it's quite nice. Way better than Twilight!
*Yes~You got it! I'm one of the hardcore anti-Twilighters*

The movie consists of 3 scenarios, all developed from a TV series a decade ago.
It doesn't matter whether you have watched the TV series or not. (I have not)

Among the 3 stories, I like the first one the most. It's about a typical modern family, where a husband found himself with no significant value in his wife's life, after so many years of striving in the business world, just to make the family life better.
He reach the peak of his life, got all the C's (cars, credit cards, condominium, career etc.), but failed to notice how much his wife's life has changed. She's stepped out of the life being a full-time housewife with no children, no career and no friends, and carve her own niche. Of course, HE didn't notice all these.
A mind-boggling hide-and-seek game was set up by the wife, so that she will be rediscovered by her man. A bit quirky in the way of shooting, especially the animation, but interesting plot indeed.
Well, she's not an ordinary girl. Instead of blaming others or weeping at a corner, she save her own relationship, with just a little help from some friends and strangers.

The other two stories are not bad either, both about ..... hehe.
Watch it if you wanna know about it! XP
Hint: There's a scene where the main female character fly-kicking a condom dispenser in the middle of the night!!! (I was totally cracked up!!!)

Well... ... hope you enjoy it as much as me.

Back to normal

After 10 hours of rushing.... I'm back home, on the Island of Oriental Pearl.

The past 3 weeks were really really AWESOME!!

Cause....I

Met up with some old friends and family members ,whom I have not seen for 2 years.
Had lots of laughter and chatter, those I missed in these two years time.
Chat about life, school, results, environment in Aus, new friends, old friends, BGR....haha
Conclusion?
All of us are definitely growing up FAST!

Well, it's not gathering if there isn't any food, especially street food.
(that's why my body weight shoot aaaaaaaaaaaaaalllll the way up to 82+kg in just TWO WEEKS!!! TWO F***KING WEEKS!!! Do your maths and tell me what will happen if I stay there for a month! HOLY SHAIT!) XP

Another 10 hours of rushing..... I'm back, back in Tassie.

It recalls all the departure scenes I had 2 years ago.
14th Februray 2010, the night which I doubt I'll ever forget.
Rahimee and mee, both first time flying overseas.
Having our first-ever air-plane meal on CNY eve,
Only the stormy conditions across Jakarta night sky could describe my feelings.

This time, it's not better than the previous one.
Lost my baggage at Tulangmarine airport..... oh damn~!
Luckily, I kept all my cash and documents in my carry-on bags.
At the same time, I'm glad to meet a few inspirational figures on my journey.
A young (not more than 5 years old) but very independent Vietnamese girl who is born in Melbourne.
Sitting beside a complete stranger, all by herself (which is me), yet she's calm and confident when I converse with her. KAWAII neh!
Another one is the stranger who helped to send my wallet to the information counter.
Amidst the franticness of losing my checked-in luggage, unconsciously, I dropped my wallet when purchasing drinking water from a shop.
Thanks again for saving my time and energy to make a new passport, IC and student ID.

well.... back to normal.

叙叙旧

趁着回来，短短的两个礼拜
好好地和亲友们叙旧。

真的。。。
好久好久没和老朋友叙旧了
那种感觉。。。

爬爬山，吹吹风，
再来吃个路边摊收尾。
一切随意，
不须麻麻烦烦。

上了大学，
交的朋友,
理念也许较不一样，
也不怎么称得上交心。
尤其是在外地，
你做你的，他做他的，我做我的，
平时见面跟本就少上加少，
要不然就是课业事物。

一到难得的空闲放假，
大家就一窝蜂“咻" 的一声，
不见踪影。

回国的回国，
在家宅到不能再宅的也有，
剩下的也寥寥无几了。
看了也没心情来个聚会什么的。

真的很怀念中小学，
一放假，大家就会计划要到哪儿哪儿的。
不管多么的累，只要聚在一起游山玩水，
走断了腿也不算什么？

谈着谈着，

发觉我们真的真的不小了。

随心随行的日子，

我们还有几回？

Well.... 接下来也许是期待已有伴侣的朋友结婚了吧？

Re-adaption

Now blogging at LCCT, first time here and heard quite a lot about how lousy the building is.

Rarely talk about my opinions in design here...
Well, cause not everybody understands it.
This time gonna talk about TASTE.

Still remember last semester, my design was said to  be 'fat,bulky,and fugly'.
Well... I'm not a huge fans of breath-taking designs *blah...blah...blah*
To me, functionality comes BEFORE aesthetic.
I love science, structure and logics. Eventhough, I'm a fan of aesthetic, it's in a different way though.
If I have the choice, I would choose to save the money rather than making the whole building looking arty-farty. Watch the video below if you know mandarin *sorry, no subtitle*
It's about a Taiwanese journalist who used to work for magazine which interviews ONLY expensive,luxurious,breath-taking buildings. After turning 30, she took a 180 degree change and seek for the spirits in old a.k.a vernacular architecture.

Some of you might disagree with this, but sometimes, taking aesthetics as the departure point just make me SICK! Well..... I think I should have taken a double degree course...

Christmas Lunch

Continuously for two years, I was given the opportunity to experience couple X'mas overseas. When I was still in Penang, my small aunty will always organize an X'mas party. 

I think we can be considered as a big family. Even though we're not Christian, we celebrate X'mas. 

haha.... who cares? as long as you get to gather with friends and family, eat, drink and enjoy~!

This year, my boss asked me to go over to the restaurant for an X'mas lunch. He's originally from the United States and been in Tassie for around 9 years. He first came here with his ex-wife (he REALLY mind the 'EX'!), first in Melbourne, then Tasmania (after they got on a different way).

Well, I was not told to bring anything for the gathering, but, common sense....duh~
I made a supposed-to-be-a-moist-chocolate-mud-cake, but I sieved the mixture after I have mixed them..... which led it becoming a SUPER rich brownie! =____= A HUGE DISAPPOINMENT!!! =(

If you say South East Asians love 'cili padi' a.k.a small hot baby chillies 

I think Jalapeno chillies can be said to be part of Creole food.

YUM!!! totally divine!

Recipe of this unknown side dish:

A bed of sweet potato,

Sprinkled with brown sugar,

Topped with a few pieces of butter,

Layered with sufficient marshmallow

and

BAKE!

Oh ya! don't forget to sprinkle some Pecan nuts yea!

I CAN'T BELIVE IT IS NOT A DESSERT!!!

It's a side dish! A God-damn side dish! *pardon me~lalala*

It scored 6 out of 10 as a side dish,
but would have made it to 9 if it's a dessert. *persistent*

Tripped over this - a duo-group cover by Wanting and SeanZ.
Feel that among all their covers, this is the most interesting one.

I think it's an old song, if not mistaken, it's from “琼瑶”电影, which was an era totally out of my media antenna. XP
However, the 'old and conservative' way of singing this song is reinterpreted in a younger style which is more towards sofa-music  沙发音乐。

Finally，made the Unagi Dong and Tang yuan as well.

It's Christmas eve and just getting more rest before work recommences.

After that, I made a 'tang yuan' with redbean filling..... arhhh... 

took me ages to find the red bean paste

Summer solstice 夏至

Yesterday was called 'Winter Solstice" in Lunar calendar,

which small glutinous balls are served with sweet syrup.

In Mandarin, we call it "tang yuan", while we call it 'xiak yen' in Hakka. 

Probably going to make it during weekend.... if not too lazy。。。haha

Also miss muachi or 糍粑'qi bah'..... springy texture of the glutinous rice, covered with roasted peanuts, icing sugar...oh DAMN!  *drooling all over the keyboard* XP

It's winter solstice for the northern hemisphere, but in Aus, it's FREAKING HOT! haha... not a bad thing at all though. LOVE YOU SUNSHINE!

By the way, I went fishing with a few friends at a creek during last weekend, and I got an EEL!

Planning to do an 'Unagi Don' or 鳗鱼饭 whenever I'm free. *hopefully*

Used to order them whenever I got the chance to dine in a Japanese restaurant...which is rare~

My housemate cooked half of it yesterday night as dinner..... and he made them into a pot of soup bunjut (Malay spriced soup) However, he added nothing to get rid of the muddy flavour (cause it's a freshwater eel). The result was... erhm.... after 12 hours eating the eel, the muddy smells still lingering around my mouth... >  < !!!

观后感

果园的工作果然累人。。。
每天五点多就得起床~ 累啊~！

上个周末看了两部台湾电影
《艋舺》和《那年，我们一起追的女孩》

先讲讲《艋舺》吧。。。

台湾唸法为“Mang-kah!",
源于台湾原住民语，意指 “陆地与河口连接的地方，且贸易繁忙之地”
故事大纲围绕于一个羞涩的男生怎么与艋舺帮派结下不解之缘。

新一代帮派的纠纷，年轻人对"oh xiakh huey" (黑社会）改头换面的观念。
从出生入死的友谊到关公面前结拜的兄弟关系，
到最后的两败俱伤。。。。。。

故事情节ok ok啦，
单亲妈妈，辍学儿子，同性恋的阮经天。。。*汗*
但原声带配得还蛮成功的，尤其是男主角和小宁（戏中的妓女）暧昧的那一幕。。。
哈哈。。。。没有一丝龌龊的感觉，反而意外的浪漫~phew phitt!!!
整部电影大多以台语呈现，又没有字幕，确实看到有点辛苦。哈哈~
戏中的服装时尚，不是红红绿绿，就是黄黄紫紫的；不是花花纹纹，就是pattern多多的。。。
哈哈。。。彩虹！

《那年，我们一起追的女孩》，

预告片未免也打得太强了吧！
搞到看完过后没预期的满足。。。哈哈~

把柯腾的“十五月亮”照入镜头，还有课堂中的电吉他班。。。九把刀也太屌了吧！
哈哈。。。没什么反对，只是不知道九把刀的出发点在哪？XP
听说被大马政府列为三级片。。。oh oh!

我的高中，没有女生，更没有“沈佳宜”，
"停经老姨","装年轻老姨”却偶尔会遇上一两个。
倒霉的话，耳朵就得受苦了。。。哈哈...shhhh....
还好我一路以来都是以好好学生的样子来面对她们的，不然。。。肯定没剩！

故事中所说的：追用工读书的女生的好处就是你也会用工起来。
非常赞同！哈哈。。。
因为不管你（指男生）的梦想是什么，总希望能超越女生吧？！

即使你的梦想是成为“家庭主夫”，也要成为个万能的吧？哈哈。。。
想当年。。。我竟然也有那么"拼”的！haha...说成绩啦~

有一幕。。。
坐在操场旁的光头柯腾，在绑马尾的佳宜走过时，满足的笑了一下。。。
哈哈！靠腰啊！！我竟然也跟着傻笑起来。。。哈哈。。。*失控地傻笑中*

如果问我看完这部电影有什么特别的感想，我会说：
”我。。。我。。。。我。。。。。。
我终于学会了怎么运用‘臭鸡八’”！！”哈哈。。。
学好三年，学坏？。。。。三秒不到！

找天，我也想拍这么一部电影。。。
