Gunung Rajah via Bentong

Had been always wanted to do the Rajah trail long time ago, but it's always either timing of the date doesn't match my schedule or the hiking troop is full.

Lucky to have met a few friends during my other trip to Korbu, and hence!
This semi-santai trip IS BORNED!

Brought along gf and her sis for trip. According to them, this is the belated-almost-forgotten-if-not-wou-have-avoided hiking a.k.a slimming trip.

We reached the trailhead around 6.50am-ish, and weather was not good. It was drizzling at that time, so worried that the river currents will be too strong to be crossed. But, luckily all was fine during the hike.

After a short brief at the car park, we started our hike.

main entrance after 1hour hike
resting at a river crossing
7.00am - Start from Chamang Waterfall (I've never notice there is an entrance on the right if you are looking at the waterfall from the carpark)
8.15 am - Reached the Gunung Rajah main signage
9.55 am - River crossing
11.00am - Lata Naning

We were all with full load backpacks, so it took us approx. 4hours to reach Lata Naning, campsite of the day. The campsite was really packed with UM Cadet Police and almost 90% of the campsite had been taken up.

At Lata Naning
Before proceeding to summit, we set our tents, washed up a little. By the time I pulled out my tent, a friend informed me that only 3 guys (including me) out of our 14 man troop is going after the summit.

Speed hike maketh a real man XD
Well, 3-man cell group, sounded pretty fun, and proven. BL led the way, followed with Pang and me sweeping at the back. It's been some time since I got to do a speed hike with friends, so the endorphine did kicked in a little. >=D

Contemplating why we didn't just stay at the campsite and much our biscuits...hahaha
There is only one word to describe our way up - WET!
When we were our half way up, it rained like the hell had opened up, which made the trip even more slippery. There was a section where we have to sort of pull our self up using a rope. I tried not to rely too much on the rope unless I have to. I know my weight....haahha

the rain and ponchos made us feeling like aunties
The 3-man cell Yay!

After 3 hours of pushing (ya, like giving birth) we made it in 3 pieces. DAEBAK!
Sadly, the peak had no view, no shelter with minute little sunshine =S
We had some munch, took some photos, contemplating on the uphill battle *tak habis habis* then decided it's time to "fly" down.

Pang: This is certainly not a trail for the light hearted.
Me: Not for those heavy arsed too!

On our way down, BL decided to go full force and fly down. Damn~ fast and furious. *so worried for Pang as I saw him falling from his slippery shoes* But still, biar cepat, asalkan selamat....haha. Glad, that we all made it down unharmed *I think* and still in time for dinner! MAIN POINT

The moment we see the water holes, we knew we are BACK AT THE CAMPSITE!!
Nothing beats a nice cool river bath and followed with a Nasi Lemak for dinner!

ada kari rendang ayam, sambal kerang & sambal ikan bilis

Waddup~
Not much activity at night, besides laying on a huge river rock and contemplating again all the sins we had done *bullshit*. It was a good night and we headed out near noon the next day after breakie.

Till here then.
May more hikes and camps! AMEN~ hahhah
