Reflection

This review is based on the previous post. (sorry for those who can't read Mandarin... you miss a very very good story)

Well, at least you will not miss my reflection on it. =P

The story is about an old friend's funeral which eventually lead to a long-awaited yet possibly-the-last gathering among old school friends. All the attenders were already in their mid thirties/early forties and setting was in Hong Kong.

Sometimes, Friends just change for no reason, as there is no reason to not change.
I'm not very faithful in religion, but I do believe in present, past and future life. Anything in this present life is a accumulation of your past. You might ask me why.... Frankly speaking, I won't be able to tell you. There's no answer to it, and I don't need one either (call me stubborn.... whatever~ *bitchy hand sign*) Sometimes, I just treat it like a life principle, for me to treat others. What ever that goes around, comes around..... eventually. You get whatever you have done in the past, but you're treating it in a way that you want your future to be.

While reading the short stories, many memories flashed back.
A person's Life is like a hotel
People come and go
Nothing's permanent.
Don't stay, but be bothered
Don't fully believe, but have faith in it
Don't insist, instead persist.
Don't occupy, but reserve
Don't reject, but question
Don't blame, but reflect.

I really like the way the story was put together.... just right for this moment in my Life, possibly yours as well. Sometimes, you just tried to be neutral, don't belong to a group or groups. Not for anything but more freedom to choose their friends and who they have to deal with.  Having a network of relationship is useful, but viewing from another perspective, it has not just linked, but tied you with them as well. The moment you linked the nodes, you will loose some; if you decide to be a free cell, you are nothing but a dot. So, be wise.

Everything can be very subjective, just how you view it.

The gathering organiser *the deceased* has played his role of trying to get everybody together, but it will not always work out. For this very last time, it worked and youth were reiterated in another way instead of repeating like a broken record. To me, his death can be viewed as a gift to the friends who attended the gathering.

He had many letter set out for different people and different occasions, at different times. I doubt it will actually work in real life, but it works in the story (nama pun story). All of them were individually challenged with thoughts that each of them have lived in the past yet forgotten.

Well..... too lazy to continue. Read it if you can. =D
