Do you own your own shell?

Just saw a short but meaningful story from a tuition teacher's blog.
Below are the translation:

One day, Little Snail started to question about the pros and cons of the shell on his back.
He couldn't help it, but came into a conclusion that :
"God is UNFAIR...DAMMIT!"
Feeling depressed and frustrated, he started to ask his mum the questions he thought off by himself just now.

L = Little snail
M = Mama snail

L: Why we, snails have to bear a huge and massive shell on our back at the moment we were born?
M: This is because we are invertebrate, which means we don't have the vertebrae to support our body. Furthermore, we can only glide around in only a pathetic slow pace. Therefore, we have to rely on the protection provided by our own shells.

L: ..... But Ms Katie-Pearrer (caterpillar) at the school has no back bone too, and move around in a slow pace like us. Why? Why wasn't she born with a shell like us?
M: This is because she will become a butterfly one day, and the vast sky is her protection.

L : But brother Earthdy (Earthworm) has no vertebrae, move very slow and don't have the ability of turning into butterfly like us. Why he was not born with this heavy shell?
M : My dear.... But he has the ability of tunnelling into the soil. Therefore, he has the soil as his protection.

L : .... .... (start crying) Why? .... Why are we so PATHETIC? Why there's nothing that can protect us?
M : Come on~ boy boy XD That's the reason why we were gifted with a shell. We don't rely on others, not the vastness of the sky nor the soil.
WE COUNT ON OURSELVES!!!

cheers guys!
