。。hmmm。。。

WTF。oyasiminasai~

Funny age 廿五

When you're in your teen,
and first turned -ty,
you thought that world's gonna be a funny place.

But, I just learn that the real funny age is.....
T-W-E-N-T-Y  F-I-V-E.

Twenty five is  an age, where you get
others' children calling you uncle/aunty,
while still being called adik or young man.

Twenty five is also an age, where you're
expected to learn up all the career sh8t
yet still allowed to make mistakes,
mistakes as in stupid ones.

Twenty five is also an age where you're
happy with your single life,
but starting to think about family life.

Twenty five is a funny age where you
kind of still party, but
you'll wake up early to do some exercises.

I know there's alot more, but
I think at this age, all of us who still
have our parents will be really grateful.

A quarter of a century

When ya growing old,
you'll feel like time really has passed.
So fast,
so fast that a quarter of a century
merely equivalent to few blinks.

Looking back at probably the first quarter of a lifetime,
it felt like so.... so much have not been achieved.

25 is a funny age where you start to really ponder about life plans.
Some people might think that it's perfectly fine
to take our own sweet pace in having a plan,
or searching a plan / the plans.

But still, the jittery still get you now and then.
Probably not yall, but sometimes I do. ha~

First birthday spent back home,
not expecting much,
just glad that most people around me are in good shape.
Sounds rather old? *chuckles*
Well, it might take years for the physical toll
to set in, but....
the mental toll sure has shown the tip of  it's tail.

Grateful for things that were blessed with and without.
Be it simple things like the humidity and sweat,
to big things like friends and family around you,
I'm just glad that things are going on (if not awesome)
=P

Had a meet-up with some old (as in REALLY old) friends.
It has been 15 years, and been through time where the bonds weakens
and ... till now.
It's funny how I feel like we are still
a whole bunch of immature brats,
same like 15 years ago,
if not better. =P

Recently got a new pet a.k.a plant in my merely legal small room.
Bought a Drosera with mum & sis,

First gift in a long long time, to those two who know who themselves are

Time to run more, eat moderate and shed some more lipo! haha

Happy quarter-millennium passed!

念念 Murmurs of Hearts

时而平淡,平淡得舌尖发麻;

you

Re-adaptation

Finally, settle down on a 1-year contract for work.
Came to a city which I used to know pretty well.
It has been 5 years+ since I last stayed there,
things changed, at the same time remained the same.

Been staying in a backpacker for a week now,
moving into a rented room tonight. =D

It's a weird feeling to be back after half a decade.
Somehow you felt assured yet insecure,
comfortable yet not-fitting in,
glad yet anxious.

Probably that's what they call the transition state.

Staying at the backpackers reminded me
so much of the land Down Under.
Back home, we don't really stay at backpackers,
as it is the cheapest mode of accommodation
(besides the street).
Minimal but practical facilities,
and the funny thing is you don't see one local here
besides the owner and his staffs.

Meet a Turkish here who share the same room as me.
He looked like 25, but only 21,
shy but friendly once you get to know him.
Funny how much a stranger could pour out to another,
especially when you have never met.

Every day, after dinner, we would chat in the room.
It's amazing how much ground were covered,
family, friends back home, food, festivals,
religions, politics, cultural practice,
languages, study, work, dreams,
worries and more.

As a local, I treated him a roti canai with syrup bandung,
because he said he missed Turk's baklava the most,
and gonna be his first meal when he gets home.
LOL......
and guess what.......
roti canai has become one of the best dessert to him.
almost equivalent to baklava.
*HI 5*

Thanks for the friendship man,
hope your surprise for your mum
and snake for your dad works.
till we meet again,

OO-lay oo-lay ("all the best on a new journey" in Turkish).

Alright, time to get going and
let's hope this 12 months gonna leave some good moments.
=D

阿Girl

Girl
也叫GirlGirl,
cabo-ong, tua pui.

Volleyball + blisters

For people who might be unaware,
I used to be a volleyball player.
not the pro type, but more of a bench warmers.
=P

*looking at the photo*
I'm one of the taller fat ass at the back,
I couldn't tell either.

Played it again today.
I know it's kind of out of the blue,
right?
Was doing some work in library
till I get a friend's message.
There you go,
my first volleyball match,
after almost a decade.

I played barefooted cause my footwear wasn't suitable.
and ended up with a few tiny goldfish "blisters".

Nevertheless, it's a good 2.5 hours game.

Before I go,

Gen Y-Z

Translation:

I'm a Law student.
Out of all the lecturers I have had so far,
none of them ever disagree to a statement:

"It is true that the law and regulations
have stated such and such ...
But..... BUT, in the reality,
it is always the other way round."

Reality is so real,
So so real that it becomes such surrealistic that
doesn't conform to its own rules and regulations.

Man who follows the rules rarely get what he wants,
while those who don't often bag everything on the table.
Therefore, it has been part of the norm to have
seniors tapping my shoulder while sighing to my
"immaturity" and "over-optimism".

I would like to project this question to Gen Y-Z.
"What can you contribute to this society?
How can you benefit this world?"

Someday,
the national reserve bank will be chaired by a Gen Y-Z
Someday, Wallstreet will be filled with Gen Y-Z entrepreneurs.

It might sound absurd,
but, someday,
The Gen Y-Z will be some countries'
PM and President.

In short,
someday, the society will be passed onto us,
the Gen Y-Z.

That's the fact.

But, the uncertainty is
what are we giving back to the society
and how are we going to deal with it?

I'm not saying that we will each hold a position
which have impetuous effects on the country.
Instead, what I'm trying to imply is that
all of us are nothing but a small
and almost negligible fragment of the entire society.
a.k.a "fry".

Our life is planned the moment we are borned.
When we're young,
we're told that academic excellence is the purpose of living.
When we graduated from college/universities,
having a handsomely-paid job is a must.
Approaching our 30s,
we're instructed that it's time to settle down,
and spend the most glorious 20 years of our life
paying our mortgages.

You may say that we "lived".
But I've a question:
"Did you live a 'life'?"

We're so focused that
we eventually loose focus
on the environmental issues,
and have no interest in the country's fate.
Spending so much time and energy
focussing on our lives,
we simply don't have anymore to spare
on contributing back to the society.
Much ironic huh?

However, I've figured out something
which I think all of us could accomplish.
It is to be good no matter how old or useless we get.

No matter if we end up being
a factory's CEO or a street vendor.
We can still choose to be good,
and stay enthical.

Do choose to defend that one
most important ethic in life,
despite having millions excuses
to not do so.

Maria Island

Weeks back, went on a trip with a small group of my classmates.
Tooooooo..... Maria Island!!!
Before talking bout the trip,
it's pronounced as "Mariah"
as in Mariah Carey,
and not the usual
stereotypical maid's name.
=P

First disastrous night
The island is almost 2 and  a half hour drive from Launnie.
We have to catch a ferry from a small town called "Triabunna".

To infinity and beyond!

Once arrived, we're greeted by a row of silos.
They were used by the convicts to produce cement in the past.

Once arrived at our campsite, tents were pitched before it gets too dark.
FYI, sun sets almost completely at 5.30 pm during winter in Tassie.

And..... my tent was set on a shit hole...
haha.... which floods when it rains heavily.
and it did later on!!!

Robbie flashing his skills =P

Basically, we didn't do much on the first night.
Just a simple dinner and jamming/card playing sessions.
Weather was pretty cold when I sneaked into my warm sleeping bag.
Happy and content.

Unfortunately, that didn't last very long.
The rain got really heavy till my tent cried for mercy,
while my sleeping bag "begged" for dry-ness.

Of course, without a sleeping mat,
my sleeping bag is semi-soaked in water.
With tassie's winter chill,
a wet sleeping bag = cold = Hypothermia!!
I was still in a "denial state" when I first notice that my sleeping bag's wet.

But luckily, my dry-or-die spirit forced me out from my sleep.

Dragging my wet, cold sleeping bag,
I grabbed the essentials:
head-torch, sandals and beanie.

Rushed to the nearest hut,
and luckily the fire is not completely out yet.
Spent my first few minutes rekindling the fire,
topping up few firewoods,
The rest of the hour
was spent cursing myself and
my sleeping bag....hahahhaha

Well.... all is good.
I manage to dry myself up
within an hour though.
Afterall, Song's a cockroach,
he wouldn't die that easily.
MATE!

SECOND DAY
Despite a horrible bit from the night before,
we were up early and all ready for a hike!
(at least I did)
Passed by an abandoned brick barn

Unknown cemetery

Ryan, Lisa with the "Bishop and Clerk Summit" backdrop

Fossils at the fossil cliffs!

2 hours ascend to the summit

The view at the top is simply remarkable!
We later descend from the Bishop and Clerk,
had our late lunch and decided that it's time for the
iconic Painted Cliffs!
Mummy wombat and baby wombat
*I WANNA SQUISH THEM SO BADLY!!!*

favourite picture of the trip *HAPPY*

LAST DAY
Last day was spent waking up early,
catching the sun rise which we missed the day before,
and some island exploration on our own.

Always love the photo of sunset/rise
Shadows tell lots of stories about a person/friend.

Life - best served chilled.

Another pretty cottage
I just feel like marching when I see this chimney

It's indeed a short trip,
and final get-away before our final semester begins!

OMG.... when can I have this kind of peace
and picturesque setting again?
Sayonara and till me meet again!

=D

better late than never
better said than never

hush!

awesome!!!

。。CHOI!
TOUCHWOOD!!!

当然。。。

Recent movies

Well, with the semester break kickstarted,
it's time to let the hair down for 3 weeks before
pandemonium sets in for the final sem.

Recently watched my first indie movie on vimeo.
Titled "I Am Not A Hipster".

It's a story about Brook,
an Indie artist,
a man in San Diego.

Another movie that really
connect and focus
on human relationship,
after "Little Miss Sunshine".

Be it a man's relationship
With his 3 sisters,
his dad,
his best friend,
acquaintances, loved ones,
or the society in general.

Personally, I'm
not a big fan of Hipster-ism,
nor against it.
But the movie somehow
able to show that we
do share some connections,
no matter who
or what you are.

Brook and his 3 sisters,
reminded me of my own.
Pretty much the same,
just that mine's a
set of 1 girl with 3 boys.
Coincidentally,
my sis sings pretty well too!
=D

Personal favourite scene is
the one in classroom.
where Brook sings with the elementary kids
and his 3 sisters.
(I've never imagined hipsters could be teachers till now)
Music just makes sense
without any reasoning.
*I don't know what I'm talking bout*
hahahahha....

Watch it if you have the free time.

"It moved me,
made me think,
and honestly blew me away."

=(

Withdrawal symptoms

Been having withdrawal symptoms for day...

Hmmm...

Definitely not drugs,
Not coffee
Nor chocolate or
any of the hometown street food.

I miss travelling!!!
I miss my
BACKPACK!!!!!
DAMMN!

=S

A peak into the thing that's in my mind.....
Not my photo, but grabbed from Malaysian Nomad

Stay tuned....
Who knows,
adrenaline might give me that final irrational push.

*ROARRRRR*

Tassie songbird

It's been some time since I last did some music hopping...
well... it means listening to some random artists.

This time I've discovered that
tassie actually has some hidden gem as well.

Featured artist : Chris Coleman

Out of all his work on Your tube,
I personally like this one the most.
Somehow, images of my parents just appeared
out of no where.
=')

Not sure which stage are they in now.
But,
do hope that all is fine back home.
Miss you guys <3. *ewww*

Another track that I like is his "Go Home".

"I don't care.
You get up
get dressed
wash face, breakfast
walk under streetlight
till you get home.

Fall down
deep breath
smile, fake it
you'll be fine,
soon you'll be home."

It somehow depicts the moment
when you feel like doing nothing.
especially with winter around the corner.
*sigh*

still ...

"You get up,
get dressed
wash face
breakfast.

Go home."

hmmm....

a.k.a “米粉糕”。

walauh....
